MAG (Airports Group)’s Post

We are pleased to be attending the International Airport Review Summit 2024 in Amsterdam. During day one of the Summit, industry representatives from across the globe came together to discuss subjects including how the sector can best create a pipeline of future talent, and how to make use of new technologies and automation in an airport environment. Manchester Airport Managing Director, Chris Woodroofe, chaired the afternoon session of today’s agenda, which in part focused on aviation decarbonisation and the opportunities surrounding Sustainable Aviation Fuel. Chris later spoke with panel members about how airports are working to create a seamless customer experience, and shared insights into measures in place at Manchester Airport to deliver a positive experience for passengers. #InternationalAirportSummit #IAS24

A fine example; Manchester Airport rail station, metrolink stop, bus and coach along with Taxi drop off all have an accessible digital wayfinding platform, will Manchester Airport take up the gauntlet?

This is wonderful, one of the most important things is standardisation when it comes to digital services, not least for those concerning accessibility and wayfinding. When I can fly from one airport to another and receive the identical service that delivers full autonomy and independence to me as a disabled person, we really will've got that nailed. Currently, despite legislation, many in the airport industry continue to install technologies aimed at wayfinding that are not accessible to everyone
