Paris Olympics 2024 #Olympic games have long been hailed as a beacon of Global Cooperation and Peace. This time is different though, There is a gruesome shadow of two #wars over the games. Many nations like #Armenia and #Azerbaijan are having tensions at borders. Super powers are divided and at crossroads with each other. #France, along with half of #Europe is engulfed with #protests at home. And there is looming threat of #terrorism now. This, however is not the first time that #Olympics have been made to mirror the geopolitical friction. It has a long history from Berlin Nazi Olympics in 1936 to Cold War era and most recently winter Olympics at #Beijing What sets #ParisOlympics apart is the sheer variety and intensity of problems, it is likely to witness, all at once!

* Evaluation:Potential Targets: The Islamic State (#IS) has identified high-profile locations in #Europe, including football stadiums in London, Paris, and #Madrid, as #potential #targets for #attacks. This demonstrates the group's continued interest in targeting symbolic and densely populated areas to maximize impact. * Geographic Concentration: The fact that two out of the four named targets are located in #Madrid, Spain, suggests a heightened risk for potential attacks in this city. This concentration raises concerns about the security posture and vulnerability of these specific locations. * Timing and Context: The mention of football stadiums during the Champions League game highlights a specific timeframe and context for potential attacks. Sporting events often attract large crowds and international attention, making them attractive targets for terrorist groups seeking maximum visibility and disruption. * Response and Preparedness: The threat poses challenges for European authorities in terms of intelligence gathering, risk assessment, and security measures. It underscores the importance of effective counterterrorism strategies, coordination between national and international agencies, and public vigilance in identifying and thwarting potential threats. Overall, the #IS threat targeting prominent European landmarks underscores the ongoing security challenges faced by the region and the need for proactive measures to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of citizens and visitors alike. #intelligence #terrorism #IS #targetedattack #jihadism #risk #threat #management #nazar #conflict #military #security #defense #Europe #champions #league #Futbol #Soccer #Calcio #Football #Futebol #JugadoresArgentinos🇦🇷⚽️ #AlAndaluzBrigade
On April 9th, the #Islamic #State (IS) published an infographic that likely appeared as a #threat to a potential targeted attack on #Europe. The targeted locations named on the official IS footage are the Emirates Stadium in Holloway, #London, #UK; Parc des Princes Southwestern #Paris, #France; Estadio Metropolitano de Madrid, Spain; and last but surely not least, Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in #Madrid, #Spain. Due to the nature of the targets' buildings, and also the fact that 2/4 of them are located in Madrid, Spain, there is a possibility that the IS will very likely be chosen to assault one of the two Madrid football stadiums during the Champions League game. However, there is also a #potential #alert in France. #intelligence #terrorism #IS #targetedattack #jihadism #risk #threat #management #nazar #conflict #military #security #defense #Europe #champions #league

Post-9/11 Context: U.S. and Israeli Conflation of Terrorism with Self-Determination Post-9/11 Environment: Following the September 11 attacks in 2001, the U.S. government intensified its focus on combating terrorism, framing it as a global war against extremist ideologies. This led to a broader definition of terrorism that included various groups, including those engaged in struggles for self-determination. U.S. and Israeli Narrative: Both the U.S. and Israel have often conflated terrorism with legitimate struggles for self-determination, particularly in the context of Palestinian resistance. This narrative has been used to justify military actions and policies against groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, portraying them as terrorists rather than legitimate political actors.

The framing of Hamas as a terrorist organization by Israel, the U.S., and India must be understood in the context of a broader narrative that conflates struggles for self-determination with terrorism. This framing has significant implications for public perception, legitimization of military actions, and the overall dynamics of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It is essential to recognize that while Hamas has engaged in violent actions, the underlying issues of occupation, oppression, and the quest for rights must also be addressed to foster a more nuanced understanding of the conflict and its humanitarian consequences.

Is there any country that can stop Israel? Under the pretext of fighting terrorism, Israel is waging war, including bombing neighboring countries unprovoked. Bombing the capital of Lebanon is not condemned. Western countries may be reserved because of their experience with the Holocaust, but Israel's actions go beyond self-defense. If Netanyahu is not condemned, it is strange that Putin is condemned. Israel is a terrorist state no different than Hamas, Hezbollah, or the Nazis. Western nations should condemn Israel's aggression and massacres in the name of self-defense and stop the war.

Right-wing terrorism, propelled by ideologies such as neo-Nazism and white supremacy, encompasses groups like the Ku Klux Klan, Aryan Nations, Aryan Brotherhood, and the American Nazi Party. The infamous bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in 1995 stands as a stark example of the lethal consequences of such extremism. While historically posing a lower threat compared to other forms of terrorism, the turn of the century witnessed a surge in right-wing attacks, particularly in North America and Western Europe. Characterized by anti-Semitic and racist sentiments, these groups, often led by 'skinheads,' target immigrants and refugees, primarily of Asian and Middle Eastern descent. The aftermath of the 9/11 attacks in 2001 further catalysed the frequency of such assaults, highlighting the growing menace posed by right-wing extremism on a global scale. I wrote a paper that touches on this, and the other ideological motives of terrorism titled “THE GLOBALISATION OF MIDDLE EASTERN TERRORISM”, in the Journal of Defence & Policy Analysis. The conflation of terrorism with the fight for freedom or freedom fighters is a complex issue that requires careful consideration. Each country must develop a nuanced approach that addresses the root causes of terrorism while avoiding the blurring of lines between legitimate political movements and terrorist organizations. #terrorism

1000 days Russian war against Ukraine It is now 1000 days that Russia is attacking Ukraine in a cruel war after having already annexed Ukrainian territory before! I do not see any chance to restore the situation fully before Russia started its violent colonial expansion! Now it is about the condition to achieve a cease fire and and to work with a new de facto reality. We discussed at the Belgrade Security Conference how we can accept this new reality without legal recognition! But necessary is to give strong economic and military support to prevent new Russian attacks in the coming years! And we need strong European defence to prevent a new war in Europe wherever it could happen!
