Cut Clean, Cut Efficient—Veneer & Plywood Excellence! MEW Product Range: #Peelingknives #Sliverknives #Pressurebars #Clipperknives #Flakeknives #Chipperknives #Planerblades #TCTSawBlades #FingerJointerCutters #Pressurebars Prevention of Blue Stains on Veneer Sheets In addition to producing standard inlay knives, MEW also manufactures fully stainless steel knives and pressure bars specifically designed to prevent the occurrence of blue stain spots on veneer sheets. These stains result from a chemical reaction between the tannic acid present in certain wood species—such as red oak, white oak, cherry, and walnut—and the iron content in conventional steel knives and pressure bars. By using specially developed stainless steel which does not react with tannic acid, our knives and pressure bars help maintain the veneer’s appearance and quality during the slicing process, particularly for species prone to this reaction. This ensures a cleaner cut and superior finish, critical in high-end veneer production. 🇬🇧 What happens if we sand a wooden floor too early? Sanding a floor too early, before the varnish has properly dried or cured, can lead to several issues: * Uneven Finish: If the floor hasn’t dried completely, sanding can disrupt the drying process and cause uneven absorption of finishes like stains or sealants. This can result in an uneven or blotchy appearance on the floor. * Clogging of Sandpaper: The moisture present in the floor can clog up the sandpaper, reducing its effectiveness and potentially causing it to wear out quickly. This can lead to an inefficient sanding process. * Adhesion Problems: Applying finishes, such as stains or sealants, to a floor that hasn’t dried properly can lead to poor adhesion. This can result in the finish not adhering well to the surface and eventually peeling or wearing off. * Warping and Swelling: Sanding a floor too early can expose the wet or damp wood underneath. As the floor continues to dry, the wood may shrink, warp, or swell, causing problems with the overall flatness and integrity of the floor surface. * Dust and Mess: Sanding a damp floor can generate excess dust and debris, making the sanding process messier and more difficult to clean up. To avoid these issues, it’s important to follow manufacturer guidelines and ensure that the floor has properly dried or cured before sanding and applying any finishes. Generally, you should wait until the finish has cured sufficiently to the touch and doesn’t leave any residue on your finger when lightly touched. #marcocaineroattitude #woodflooring #sandpaper #clogged #finishingsystems #waterbasedcoatings #export #world #export #branding In this picture you can see what happens when we sand too early: a clogged sandpaper. ⬇️

DEBARKING AT SAWMILLS & PLYWOOD MILLS 🌲 Rotor debarking is the most commonly used method of debarking in the sawmill and veneer industry (e.g. plywood and LVL). It is the most cost-effective method when we consider the volume of wood normally used in these production units. Among the known methods, rotor debarking is the least damaging to the wood, which makes it an excellent choice for the sawmill and plywood industries. Read the full article to learn more about the importance of debarking in sawmills and veneer and plywood mills. 🌐 https://lnkd.in/dcsvQyqX... ✉ info@nukor.co.za ☎ +27 11 610 2000

Did you know plywood has been around for thousands of years? And it's still a key player in today's construction boom! From framing new homes to building epic skate ramps, plywood is a versatile workhorse – and Bakelite makes it all possible. Let’s look at the science. Plywood is created by using plywood resins – like the ones that Bakelite produces – to glue together thin layers of dried wood veneer sheets. The glue is applied by a variety of methods with a consistent dosing level, and the veneers stack to form panels. The thickness of the resulting plywood sheets depends on the number of layers of veneers used in the process. After the adhesive is applied, the plywood sheets go through a pressing process that flattens them and dries the glue. As you see construction around your town, the plywood they’re using has a good possibility of being made with one of our resins! #Bakelite #BakeliteSynthetics #PhenolicResin #MakingLifeBetter #ScienceIsFun

The plywood production process starts with logging. Once the trees have reached the required age for cutting, they are logged and carefully selected. The birch wood suitable for plywood production is taken to the factory where it is measured, assessed for quality and prepared for further processing. 🌳 💧 Before the plywood is peeled, the wood is thermally prepared by soaking it in 45 °C hot water for 20 hours. This process is crucial to increase the elasticity of the wood, which is necessary for the veneer to be durable and crack-free. After soaking, the veneer blocks are peeled and the quality and dimensions of the veneer are checked with a camera in order to sort them for their future use in plywood production. The veneers are then dried, inspected and prepared for processing. Quality assessment is essential to ensure that only the best wood is used in the next stages of production. ⚙️ #plywood #plywoodmanufacturing #Latvia #birchplywood

It’s just flooring. There’s no way it could be an “emergency.” The Emergecy: 🚨 Bluestone Emergency! 🚨 When several liters of cutting oil spilled onto the bluestone tile floor at a building's entrance, we knew swift action was vital. Learn how our cleaning team tackled this challenge and restored the floor to its pristine state. Our Solution: Bluestone being porous and quickly absorbing oil, we needed a product that could draw the oil out of the stone. Our Process: We applied an absorbent paste, covered it with plastic, and sealed the edges with weights. This allowed the paste to stay moist longer, effectively drawing out the oil. After around 12 hours, the paste dried and needed removal. We took off the plastic, then vacuumed and dry brushed the bluestone with a counter-rotating brush machine to clear all the paste. All the oil had been absorbed into the paste, leaving no evidence of any oil on the bluestone. #Premrest #BeautifulFlooring
