This weekend, I took a step back into the classroom myself, participating in the Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 1 wine course . 📚🍇 It was a refreshing reminder of the value of lifelong learning – there’s always something new to discover, no matter where we are in our careers. Today, I'm back to teaching and coaching, but with a renewed perspective. Learning and sharing knowledge go hand in hand; it’s a cycle that enriches us both personally and professionally. Christmas Cooking Session with ESOL Level 1 Students! #coventrycollege During the festive season, our ESOL Level 1 class had a unique and delightful cooking session with me that blended fun with valuable learning experiences. 👩🍳 Teamwork and Collaboration: Students worked in teams to prepare traditional Christmas dishes, fostering collaboration and effective communication. 📘 Functional Skills: Through this activity, students enhanced their functional skills, such as following recipes, measuring ingredients, and understanding cooking terminology. ⏰ Time Management: Managing their time efficiently to complete the dishes within the class period was a crucial aspect of the session, promoting better organizational skills. 🌏 Knowledge Development: Students also expanded their cultural knowledge and language skills by discussing holiday traditions and sharing recipes from their cultures.
