I’m officially at my wits' end! Our fibre line has been down for two days, and each time I chase an update, I get the same generic response: "It’s a Webafrica and Vumatel issue, and they’re looking into it." Then, silence. And of course, I have to start the query process all over again. In today’s world, where being connected is a necessity, how is this still happening? After over 10 years as a loyal Webafrica client, it’s making me wonder—are all fibre providers this unreliable, or is Vumatel or the line supplier the real culprit here? At this point, I feel like everyone involved must be enjoying a day at the beach while the rest of us struggle to stay connected! If anyone has had a similar experience or knows of a fibre provider that actually delivers, I’d love to hear it. Hey Sean Nourse, can you help out here? There’s got to be a better way to handle customer support these days, right? After 10+ years as a client, I know you guys can do better. P.S. When a dream comes true ! 📖 ✅ In 2014, after the publication of the first IRPA guiding principles on radiation protection culture (RSC), I proposed to Maria Perez of the World Health Organization (WHO) that we launch a new joint initiative with other international organizations focused on Radiation Safety Culture (RSC) in healthcare. Madan Rehani, IOMP "International Organization for Medical Physics" president, and Debbie Gilley, on behalf of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) agreed to join us on this project. The dream team was ready to work together! ✅We have successfully organized a total of 6 workshops across each continent: Buenos Aères (Argentina) for Latin American countries, Geneva (Switzerland) for Europe, Stellenbosch (South Africa) for African countries, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) for Asian countries, Doha (Qatar) for the Middle East, and San Diego (USA) for North American countries. 🎯 Good news arrived yesterday from the WHO - our joint document, “Enhancing the culture of radiological safety in health care” was published this week and is available for free access on this link: https://lnkd.in/ehfTZfGK. ✅We celebrated this joint publication yesterday during the FX Plenary Panel Discussion titled, "IRPA/IOMP/WHO/IAEA Safety Culture initiative in healthcare - IRPA 16." ✅The other good news is that the RSC family is expanding! At the time of writing our joint guidance, Claire-Louise Chapple (IRPA EC member) had joined the group of editors. JOHN DAMILAKIS current president of the IOMP and Vesna Gershan for the IAEA have also joined the team. I would also like to thank Ferid Shannoun, who replaced Maria Perez at WHO. In recent weeks, he has helped significantly with the publication of this key document. I also invited. Alfredo de los Reyes on behalf of Foro Iberoamericano de Organismos Reguladores Radiológicos y Nucleares to present views from regulators on RSC in Latin American countries. ✅ I had the opportunity at several congresses to speak on this initiative and to share the importance of assessing radiation safety culture in your own facilities. The feedback I received is that we need to collect and share more practical experiences. ✅To help accomplish this, we decided to relaunch a second working group dedicated to this subject that would be open to all health professionals. I hope that the next joint workshop of this second working group will be able to be held in Africa.
