15000+ Donors from India donated 1.78Cr worth of relief materials to Turkey back in 2023, to a nation devastated by an earthquake claiming 55,000 lives. 4 generators were shipped which powered over 160 tents & 3,000 households, bringing light and hope to those left in darkness showcasing a powerful act of borderless humanity. This was our first cross-border campaign in collaboration with Akshaya Patra and GEM - where Donatekart procured and shipped life-saving medical equipment like Philips ventilators, mobile toilets and 74.2 tons of groceries, supporting over 10,000 people. This campaign is one of the closest to my heart, which truly showcased humanity knows no borders. If this is not the power of crowdfunding, then I wonder what it is. It reminded me of this doha (Couplet) by mystic poet Kabir, “कबीरा कुँवा एक है, पानी भरे अनेक, बर्तन में ही भेद है, पानी सब में एक।“ Kabir uses this metaphor to highlight that, despite apparent differences among people (vessels), the essence (water) within all of us is the same. Throughout this war, communication infrastructure has been constantly destroyed leaving Palestinians inside and outside of Gaza with little way to contact love ones and know if they are OK. Today, there is almost no internet or phone connectivity from local providers I have been a small part of this initiative which aims to help this, by purchasing and providing e-sims to people in Gaza, using networks from nearby countries which overlap into Gaza. So far, we have shared over 10'000 e-sims into Gaza, and requests are only increasing, with now upwards of 200 request a day. There is not much we can do for Gaza, but every small action builds towards something. Please donate either an e-sim or cash (which will only be used for purchasing e-sims) and please share this post among your networks.

Multiple charities and INGOs have been raising funds for Gaza. Millions have been raised. Yet, none of them explains exactly how their aid is entering Gaza. How are people still starving with millions and millions donated? If you’d like to help, donate to organisations that are supporting Palestinians outside of Gaza. Or donate to Sudan, DRC, Yemen, Afghanistan, Tigray, or any region where aid can be delivered. Save your Gaza money for when aid can be moved freely. There’s no way of rebuilding Gaza right now. Do your research before donating and look for organisations that provide reports and full transparency on their work.
