Gen AI models are trained on vast datasets, making them capable of producing diverse outputs. Going back in history, Gen AI traces its roots to the 1960s with early chatbots such as ELIZA, which lacked the ability to generate original content. Advancements in the 80's brought about more sophisticated Gen AI models, especially neural networks. The pivotal moment for Gen AI arrived in the 2010s with the introduction of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs). GANs revolutionized AI by producing high-quality outputs that resemble human-generated content. Geoffrey Hinton | How AI Trains Itself: The Power of Neural Networks ⚡🤖 Neural networks, the backbone of modern #AI, have revolutionized how machines learn and process information. Pioneers like Geoffrey Hinton and his collaborators laid the foundation for these systems by designing software in layers, each responsible for solving a piece of the problem. This layered approach allows AI to mimic the way the human #brain processes information. When an AI model makes a correct prediction, a feedback signal is sent through these layers, reinforcing the correct pathways. Conversely, when it makes a mistake, the feedback weakens the incorrect pathways. This process of strengthening and weakening connections, similar to how our synapses work, enables AI systems to "teach" themselves through trial and error, continuously improving over time. What sets AI apart from traditional programming is this adaptive learning mechanism. While AI systems today are still smaller in scale compared to the human brain, their ability to learn and adapt is rapidly evolving. The most advanced generative AI models, such as #GPT4 and Google's #Gemini, have around 1 trillion parameters, which is a fraction of the approximately 100 trillion connections found in the human brain. The Pursuit of Artificial General Intelligence: How Close Are We to AGI? Artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly, with new developments in machine learning and neural networks pushing the boundaries of what technology can do. But while current AI excels at specialized tasks, researchers continue working toward the elusive goal of artificial general intelligence (AGI) - AI with the same broad cognitive abilities as humans. So how close are we to achieving AGI? Opinions vary widely. Some experts believe we could have human-level AI within decades, while others argue AGI may never be possible. Microsoft and OpenAI claim their latest AI system, GPT-4, could be an early version of AGI. But many researchers say we still have a long way to go. AGI remains largely theoretical. Without a clear framework for measuring general intelligence, it's hard to evaluate progress. Researchers are exploring different approaches, from mimicking neural networks to simulating human reasoning. The future path is unclear. But the stakes are high, as AGI could enable transformative new technologies while posing complex ethical challenges. Generative AI Explained- Simple let’s Know How it Works ☁ In very basic terms, Generative AI takes every input, be text or images or sentences, transforms as a set of vectors using artificial neural networks. These Biometrical Vectors record important features of the data but in numerical form. When you input a query, Generative AI converts it into vectors, which are mathematical representations of the data. This process allows the AI to understand the input's key features. The AI then uses vector operations to understand relationships and similarities between different pieces of input data (like text and images). This helps in finding meaningful connections between them. Finally, to find similar queries or data points, a search is conducted in the vector space(Database). The AI identifies the closest matches, providing relevant and accurate results.
