One of the advantages of early retirement is that you can start fun and intellectually challenging projects that you wouldn't be able to do so otherwise. This is my second video of a little project to develop a self defense curriculum for Karate/Taekwondo practitioners based on my cross training in Krav Maga, Japanese Jiu Jitsu, etc, but using techniques and motions that they already know from Karate/TKD. In karate, there are no “basic” or “advanced” techniques, only techniques performed at a “basic” or “advanced” level. Advanced techniques are simply combinations of basic techniques. That is why mastery of the basics is so vital to good karate.
