We are right at the beginning of a program (and a journey) that we are confident will strengthen teams working to revitalize latent built heritage and push the topic of revitalization into the public discourse. The "HSSP- Heritage Stewardship Support Program" builds on the previous edition, "Capitalizing on Derelict Spaces for Local Ecotourism Development" (June 2022 - July 2023), an extensive documentation of the different typologies of latent assets in the country, interdisciplinary, passionate and dedicated revitalization teams, challenges and opportunities in the field of latent built heritage valorization. The HSSP edition (2024- 2026) has three components, which will run in parallel: ➤ a sub-program of strategic support, mentoring, and capacity building for organizations working in the recovery and revitalization of latent built heritage, organized together with Synerb; ➤ strengthening the Latent/Emergent learning and practice community, started in the first edition, now counting 50 members; ➤ Elaboration of a joint policy paper on railway heritage. We look forward to working with the people who keep Romania's heritage alive, collaborating with international experts in heritage interpretation and strategic fundraising, delving into stories, places, and communities, and facilitating a legal framework to support revitalization. The guide recognises the unique challenges Greek islands face, especially those without urban areas but experiencing urban-sized populations during tourist seasons, emphasising the need for specialised mobility planning. The Fortress of Louisbourg is a National Historic Site and popular tourism destination in Nova Scotias Cape Breton Island. A new 10-year management plan for the Fortress has been tabled in Parliament. Required by the Parks Canada Agency Act, the maintenance plan helps guide operations for federal parks, federal marine sites and historic sites. Canada's Largest 'Living' Ecomuseum Kalyna Country, boasting an impressive 20,000 square kilometers, proudly holds the title of the `Canada's Largest Ecomuseum.` To put its size into perspective, it spans over three times the area of Prince Edward Island. Situated in Alberta, east and north of Edmonton, its boundaries encompass a vast region that includes the renowned Edna-Star colony, a significant part of Canada's first Ukrainian Block Settlement. Comparable to Cajun Country's significance to Cajun culture, Kalyna Country holds a special place for Ukrainian Canadians. 𝗨𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱: 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 🐧 Today, I am launching a parliamentary petition to address the alarming decline of the Little Penguin population on Penguin Island, we are down to 114. Despite decades of warnings from the experts and key stakeholders no significant action has been taken, and the situation is now critical. We need an urgent recovery plan to ensure we can repopulate our Little Penguins and continue to promote sustainable tourism focused on conservation. We urgently need a Penguin Island Discovery Centre built on the mainland. This centre can focus on education, conservation, and keeping our local tourism industry alive. • The Penguin Island Management Plan is 22 years out of date. • The Shoalwater Islands Marine Park Plan is 7 years out of date. Penguin Island has had over 140,000 visitors per year, now the situation is dire. People visit Rockingham specifically to see the Penguins, which are unique to the island and natal to it.
