Smooth and Quiet Operation: The helical teeth help provide a smoother, quieter engagement compared to spur gears, even when the shafts are at odd angles. 3. Less Efficiency than Bevel or Worm Gears: While crospherical gears work well for certain applications, they generally have lower efficiency compared to bevel or worm gears, especially if used for high-load applications. 4. Applications: Crospherical gears are often found in devices where smooth but moderate power transmission is needed across skewed axes, such as in certain types of robotic joints, automotive components, or machinery with complex layouts. 5. Material and Lubrication: These gears are typically made from materials that can withstand high wear, like hardened steel, and usually require lubrication to reduce friction and heat.
