Malaysia! 10th most peaceful country in the world! Last 25th December, the world's tallest twin skycrapper (Malaysia's twin tower) was lighted up in Christmas colours. If you read comments and perspectives from expatriates living in Malaysia, many expressed how lively & happening Christmas celebrations are in the country regardless of not majority celebrating Christmas. This indicates tolerance, diversity and peace are well celebrated in Malaysia. To back up this, the 2024’s Global Peace Index, an annual chart compiled by the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) has ranked Malaysia as the 10th most peaceful country in the world for 2024, which is second in the list for South East Asia, after Singapore, being ranked as 5th globally. Just for info to my non-Malaysian networks here, Malaysia population is mixed race of people living with various faith and tradition. What I hope as Malaysian, is that we continue to preserve and strengthen what belongs to our unique identity as "Malaysia, a trully Asia" where we celebrate the diversity, the multifaith & multicultural living. We are welcoming 2025 with a peaceful country. This means more investment are welcomed, more growth and stability are promised, and more opportunities for the nation. Ts. Our friends and acquaintances often ask why we travel to Singapore so often. Year after year, we visit Singapore and from there explore other Asian countries. Finally, I’ve made a video from our trip at the beginning of the year, so hopefully, this will answer some of the questions people have been pondering about our travel destination… But, honestly, this video only captures a small part of our journey in Singapore. I didn’t even realize how little could fit into a single video because there’s so much more about Singapore’s culture, Chinatown, Little India,or the stunning Haji Lane area located in Kampong Glam in Singapore—enough material for another video, so there’s definitely more to come, especially as we’re heading back to Singapore again in the spring… Singapore feels like a second home. Although we’re talking about a small country, it has as many people as Finland. Singapore is very Western yet culturally Asian. It feels safe and welcoming. Even though we’re talking about a country of rules, the rules are clear and serve to protect its citizens. Singapore lacks the negativity that can come with religious divisions, yet all religions are visible daily. This is something all countries should take note of, as for one reason or another, all religions coexist peacefully side by side in Singapore. Remarkably, religious practices are respected here as well. We go to Singapore to eat—it’s one of the best things to do there! The food culture is amazing, and you see the influence of all nearby countries. The diversity of nationalities has enriched the food culture, making it rich and varied. Singapore is a city vacation for us, yet it also has beautiful beaches. We’re talking about fine sand and fantastic beaches because Singapore doesn’t naturally have much beach sand; it’s all imported, including sand from the Sahara. Singapore has large park and nature reserve areas where you can experience the natural jungle. The city’s nature is beautiful, designed to fit into the urban landscape. That’s why many buildings are covered with vegetation, and hotel gardens are beautifully maintained. Hopefully, this video will help you feel the vibe we always have in Singapore. In the next video, we’ll share even more details and focus more on specific areas in Singapore. https://lnkd.in/d2qjtqQM #SingaporeTravel #SingaporeTourism #ThingsToDoInSingapore #SingaporeTravelGuide #SingaporeAttractions #SingaporeVlog #Singapore2024 #GardensByTheBay #MarinaBaySands #SentosaIsland #UniversalStudiosSingapore #SingaporeNightlife #StreetFoodSingapore #SingaporeCulture #TravelAsia #BestOfSingapore #SingaporeTrip #SingaporeFood #TravelVlog #SingaporeTravelTips #Singapore #TravelWithFamily

“Together, As One United People” is the theme for this year's celebrations. It highlights the collective strength of the people and underscores the importance of every citizen rallying together to shape the future of Singapore and uplift those around. The theme encapsulates the essence of the Nation’s success and resilience. While the road ahead is uncertain, Singapore's strength lies within diversity. It reflects the spirit of Inclusivity, Community and Trust that has enabled them to overcome and flourish in the last 59 years despite the challenges. Personal thoughts: I have noticed how Singapore works is very "corporate" way. Something other countries can learn from having visionary leaders, diverse people and always working on not only being successful but resilient despite uncertainties. I am so glad to call this my home for the last 14 years as a Singapore PR. Hope that Singapore will remain a safe, a wonderful place and prosper in the year ahead. Happy 59th Singapore National Day! 🌟 Gong Xi Fa Cai 🌟 When I first moved to the Philippines in 2011, I didn’t know Filipinos celebrated Chinese New Year that much. But over the years, I’ve come to see how deeply rooted and meaningful this celebration is—not just for the Filipino-Chinese community, but for the Filipino culture as a whole. Having worked alongside talented Filipinos for over 18 years, I’ve realized that the values behind Chinese New Year mirror the same principles that make Filipino talent exceptional in the workplace. Chinese New Year isn’t just a holiday; it’s a reflection of what matters the most. 🧑🧑🧒🧒 For Filipinos, it’s a time to reunite and strengthen family bonds. Grandparents pass down traditions, children learn about their heritage, and families come together. Similarly, in Filipino work culture, colleagues are treated like family, fostering a sense of collaboration, respect, and belonging. 🌎 With the fusion of Filipino and Chinese traditions during this celebration, this shows that Filipino culture has shared heritage and adaptability. It reminds me of how Filipino professionals seamlessly blend creativity, innovation, and respect for tradition on the global stage. 🧧 Walking on the streets, you will see homes are decorated with red ornaments, and wishes for good fortune and closer connections are shared. It’s the same optimism and hope I see in Filipino teams. They are always striving for growth and creating stronger relationships. Working and living in the Philippines has taught me how these traditions go beyond celebrations. They’re values that shape how Filipinos live, work, and connect. Fun fact: Manila’s Chinatown is the oldest Chinatown in the world. And even before its establishment, there was already trade between China and the Philippines. That is how far back the cultural exchange goes. As we celebrate Chinese New Year, let’s embrace its lessons: honor our traditions, strengthen our bonds, and move forward with hope and purpose.

Traveling between Malaysia and Thailand reveals fascinating contrasts in the attitudes and cultural values of these neighboring countries. Malaysia often emphasizes face-saving, hierarchy, and consensus, while Thailand exudes a more relaxed, easygoing vibe, with less structure and a seemingly greater sense of happiness. In my impromptu analysis of these two cultures, I attempt to decode the underlying factors shaping their (business) behavior. Admittedly, this is more of an amateur, touristy observation than a scholarly deep dive. I'm sharing this perspective because, over the years, I’ve came to the conclusion that understanding cultural nuances and developing cultural intelligence (CQ) are among the most critical factors for success—both professionally and personally—when navigating across borders. Let's get together on the journey of getting intentions and attitudes of people around world quicker. This will close the cultural gap and create bridges in NO time! Results are smooth co-operation, communication and friendships across the globe despite political divisions. #CulturalIntelligence #CrossCulturalInsights #wef25

🌏 **Exploring Vietnam: A Journey into Culture and Work Ethic** 🌏 I had the incredible opportunity to visit Vietnam, a country rich in history, culture, and tradition. This journey was more than just a travel experience; it was an eye-opener into the profound cultural implications on work culture in Vietnam. From the bustling streets of Hanoi to the serene landscapes of Ha Long Bay, the Vietnamese people exhibit an admirable blend of resilience, respect, and community spirit. These values are deeply woven into their professional environment. Vietnamese work culture emphasizes teamwork and collective success. There's a strong sense of belonging and mutual support within teams.Respect for seniority and hierarchical structures are pivotal. Decision-making often involves senior members, ensuring that experience and wisdom guide business practices. The Vietnamese are known for their hard work and determination, often going the extra mile to achieve goals and meet deadlines.Despite their dedication, there is also a balanced approach to work and personal life, reflecting the importance of family and personal well-being. With a rapidly growing economy, there’s a visible drive towards innovation and adapting to new technologies and methodologies. Understanding these cultural nuances not only enhances our appreciation for Vietnam but also equips us to foster more inclusive and effective international collaborations. #Vietnam #WorkCulture #CulturalInsights #InternationalBusiness #Leadership #Diversity
