💰 Have you heard? Canva is increasing its prices for the Teams product significantly! 📈 In the U.S., some users are seeing a jump from $119.99 per year to a staggering $500 per year for a five-person plan. What’s driving this shift? Canva cites the expansion of its generative AI tools as a key factor. Here are the highlights: - **New Pricing Structure**: The base price is now $100 per person, with a minimum of three people required for Teams. - **Generative AI Influence**: Canva's growing suite of AI tools, like the innovative Magic Studio, is leading the way for these changes. - **News for Current Users**: Customers on older plans will see their prices updated to reflect the current market, which is quite the departure from Canva's roots as an affordable design solution. As a company prepares for its IPO, users are voicing concerns over how the price increases were communicated—mostly through email, rather than public announcements. What are your thoughts on this bold move by Canva? Is the expansion of AI capabilities worth the price hike? Let’s discuss in the comments! #Canva #AI #PricingStrategy Image from: TechCrunch

Canva Expands AI Features Canva has introduced new AI-powered tools, including the Dream Lab image generator, enhancing its web-based design platform. Powered by Leonardo’s Phoenix model, Dream Lab enables users to generate images in various styles, like 3D renders and illustrations, using text prompts. Canva’s new features also include improvements to its Magic tool suite, such as better AI-generated text and video effects, real-time reaction stickers, and automated captions for video editing. These updates aim to enhance user experience, especially with multi-subject images and more photographic styles. In addition to these tools, Canva has expanded its asset library, offering more interactive elements like AI-powered charts and graphs, along with new royalty-free music from Artlist. The company recently announced that subscription prices for business customers will increase, citing the expanded product experience as a reason. While users gain access to more refined tools, there may be concerns that these updates feel like incremental improvements rather than significant advancements in generative AI capabilities. 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝘃𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟯𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 The design software company is massively jacking up subscription prices for some users. https://lnkd.in/eqEYi9Zq The price of some Canva subscriptions are set to skyrocket next year following the company’s aggressive rollout of generative AI features. Global customers for Canva Teams — a business-orientated subscription that supports adding multiple users — can expect prices to increase by just over 300 percent in some instances. Canva says the increase is justified due to the “expanded product experience” and value that generative AI tools have added to the platform. In the US, some Canva Teams users are reporting subscription increases from $120 per year for up to five users, to an eye-watering $500 per year. A 40 percent discount will be applied to bring that down to $300 for the first 12 months. In Australia, the flat $39.99 AUS (about $26 USD) per month fee for five users is switching to $13.50 AUS (about $9 USD) for each user. That means a team of five will pay at least 68 percent more, not withstanding any other discounts.

𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒗𝒂 𝒗𝒔. 𝑨𝒅𝒐𝒃𝒆: 𝑾𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝑨𝑰 𝑻𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝑬𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏 𝑮𝒂𝒎𝒆? 📈 Last week, I faced an interesting design dilemma with two very different projects. One required quick, eye-catching graphics for a social media campaign, while the other needed detailed, high-end visuals for a luxury brand. I put the AI tools from Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud to the test. Here’s how they performed: Project 1: Speedy Social Media Graphics 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐯𝐚 For the social media campaign, speed was crucial. I used Canva’s AI Image Generator to create engaging visuals quickly. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐝: Ease of Use: Canva’s intuitive interface allowed me to design swiftly, even without deep design expertise. Speed: Stunning visuals were ready in minutes, perfect for fast-paced social media needs. Integration: The AI seamlessly matched Canva’s design elements to the brand’s style. 𝐇𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫: Limited Customization: Less control over intricate details. Image Quality: Good for general use but not ideal for high-resolution projects. Project 2: High-End Brand Campaign 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐛𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝 For the luxury brand campaign, Adobe Creative Cloud was the go-to choice. Tools like Generative Fill and Neural Filters in Photoshop were crucial. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞: Advanced Functionality: Provided the depth and precision needed for detailed designs. Professional Quality: Flawless results, perfect for high-end projects. Customization: Extensive control for tailored, high-quality outputs. 𝐁𝐮𝐭: Learning Curve: Requires more time and expertise to master. Cost: Significant investment, which might not fit all budgets. Time-Consuming: More complex tools take longer to implement and fine-tune. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐯𝐚: Ideal for fast, user-friendly design with quick results. 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐛𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝: Best for high-end projects needing detailed, professional quality and customization. Both tools have their unique strengths. What’s your experience with them? How do you choose the right tool for your creative projects? #AI #GraphicDesign #Canva #AdobeCreativeCloud #DesignTools #CreativeTech
