🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 I'm thrilled to share that my latest research has been published in "Journal of Material Chemistry C" In this work, we explored the significance of GBs in monolayer molybdenum disulfide (ML MoS2) in optoelectronic functionalities such as photodetection, photonic synaptic behaviours, and adaptive learning analogous to the brain. We systematically elucidated the effect of grain boundaries in optoelectronic properties through energy band diagrams and electrostatic force microscopy (EFM) results from biased samples under illumination. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my supervisor Bikas C. Our recent group publication in Journal of Materials Chemistry A (I.F. = 11.9), wherein we optimised the photocatalytic performance of Mn-doped BiFeO3 for degrading pollutants. The addition of Mn refines the crystal structure, shifts light absorption towards the infra-red, narrows the energy gap, doubles the charge lifespan and surface photovoltages, and boosts polarization, which in turn drives charges more effectively. These enhancements lead to a significant increase in the breakdown of rhodamine B, promising advances in energy conversion and environmental cleanup! Happy to share our recent publication on Time-resolved heterodyne-detected electronic sum frequency generation (TR-HD-ESFG) spectroscopy, at the air/water interface. In fact, this is the first time realization of heterodyne detection in time-resolved ESFG measurements, which is undoubtedly a challenging task. This provides us clean and accurate time-resolved data from aqueous interface which can be straightforwardly compared to the time-resolved data of bulk solution. TR-HD-ESFG will be a powerful tool for tracking down ultrafast photochemical processes at interface, which is largely unknown at the moment. https://lnkd.in/d82W7s-8

I'm happy to share our recent publication "Exploration of anion effects in solvothermal synthesis using in situ X-ray diffraction" Happy because this concludes my last major project at Aarhus University after more than 10 years of studies and work. Very happy because it presents a chance to commemorate the very many interesting, skilled, passionate, intelligent, inspiring, and nice people I've meet throughout the years. Thank you all! The same goes to all the people who have helped me along the way and to the funding bodies that provided med the possibility. I consider the publication a solid contribution to the field of solvothermal chemistry (not surprisingly considering my role), and originated the project with the idea: "what would I have liked to know when I started my PhD?" Research by Maxx Arguilla and colleagues, Steven Allison, Dmitri Leo Cordova, Maham Hasi and Toshihiro Aoki, was recently published by the Royal Society of Chemistry. Their work demonstrates the growth of Bi4I4 nanowires and nanosheets assisted by gold #nanoparticles. The size and morphology of these structures are contingent upon the dissolution of Bi and I within the gold nanoparticle catalysts. These Bi4I4 formations serve as valuable subjects for investigating the impact of size, composition, and shape on their unique properties. Given the resemblance of Bi4I4 to other one-dimensional (1D) crystals, these findings offer insights that could inform the synthesis of such crystals utilizing analogous catalyst-based methods. https://lnkd.in/g9bBcEMM

Thrilled to share the article published in September this year entitled 'Unraveling energy transfer and fluorescence quenching dynamics in biomolecular complexes: a comprehensive study of imiquimod–rifampicin interaction'. Great working with the collaborators for computational analysis Dr. subrahmanyam sappati @Dr. Abhinav srivastava Here, we elucidated energy transfer phenomena between two molecules using spectroscopy and extensive quantum chemical calculations. The study highlights key interactions and unique characterization that can act as a good model for understanding complex energy transfer processes in biomacromolecules. Please check out the work:

🔬 We are excited to highlight a recent study by Matlantis users on "Stress-Induced Martensitic Transformation in Na3YCl6". This research explores how stress can trigger martensitic transformation in nonoxide materials. 📊 The study demonstrates that anisotropic crystallographic transformation from monoclinic to rhombohedral Na3YCl6 occurs exclusively under uniaxial pressure, with no effect under hydrostatic pressure conditions. This finding was supported by in situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction and atomistic simulations using Matlantis. 🙌 Congratulations to the researchers for these impactful findings!
