As Pimax development partners, we at OD1N Studios are keeping a keen eye on Pimax’s latest releases in the VR scene. The newly announced Crystal Light and Crystal Super headsets promise enhancements in PC VR with a focus on high-resolution visuals. The Crystal Light aims to make 3K resolution more budget-friendly by simplifying features, while the Crystal Super offers a 4K viewing experience, with advanced options including micro-OLED displays. 🖥️ Interestingly, the original Crystal model now has a $300 wireless adapter upgrade, making it Pimax’s first venture into wireless VR. This adapter uses a 60GHz signal, aiming for less compression and a cleaner stream. 📡 While these developments are promising, they are tailored for PC VR enthusiasts looking for top-tier visual fidelity without the mobility of standalone units. For those interested in exploring high-definition VR, these products might be worth watching, though we recommend keeping an eye on user reviews as they launch. #virtualreality #xr #spatialcomputing #pimax #vr #ar

Is the Pico 4 Ultra the Next Big Thing in VR? While I haven’t tried the Pico 4 Ultra yet, I was thoroughly impressed with the Pico 4. With its new functionality and competitive price point, I can see the Ultra stepping up to challenge the Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro. Antony Vitillo's hands-on review (linked in the comments) sheds light on some standout features: 1. Impressive Passthrough 2. Refined Hand-tracking 3. Ergonomic Ringless Controllers 4. Environment Meshes Plus, the addition of body tracking accessories is a game-changer for immersive simulations! Excited to see where this takes the industry. What do you think—will Pico 4 Ultra give the competition a run for its money? Let's discuss! #VR #VirtualReality #Pico4Ultra #XR #Innovation PICO XR

The First VR Headset - The Sword of Damocles The first VR HMD (head-mounted display) was built in 1968 by Ivan Sutherland in the US. It was capable of displaying 3D wireframe of shapes and changed perpective with user’s head movement thanks to head tracking sytem. I might be too loose when saying it’s head-mounted because it was very heavy and had to be suspended from the ceiling. It looked like a giant cross above the user, so menacing that Ivan jokingly dubbed it as “The Sword of Damocles”. Nevertheless, this was the first working system that checked all the basic functions of VR. We can rightly call this the birth of VR. Since then, it has been more than 50 years of VR evolution. I’m so glad we can do a backflip while wearing a VR HMD now! #VirtualReality #VR #ExtendedReality #XR #HumanComputerInteraction #HCI #DigitalTransformation
