Is #14hours an attempt at 'work hour anchoring'? We have all experienced how businesses take advantage of a cognitive bias, known as anchoring bias, through price anchoring. I consider the recent 14-hour workday proposal 'work hour anchoring'. This proposal is likely to be shelved, but it might become an anchor, a reference point. With this, 10 to 12-hour work days are likely to be perceived as 'reasonable'. This is a regressive move when we are moving towards a future where technological advancements will help us work fewer hours and allow us to be more human. We have all read about physical slavery in our history books. There is no doubt that a few decades from now, our generation will find mention in history books as 'mental slaves'.
