Recently the Margaret River wine community gathered, beachside, for the second year of judging the region’s Best Rosé in this unique format, for the 2024 Endeavour Group Margaret River Wine Show. Judging was followed by a Beach Party celebration to honour last year’s Novonesis Rosé Trophy Winner, Japo Dalli Cani of McHenry Hohnen, with the presentation of his custom made ‘Pink Jacket’.

This is Nemea Grande Reserve of 100%Agiorgitiko grapes - by the iconic Semèli Estate; a privately owned single vineyard at 580 meters “vin de garde” produced at an extremely limited number of bottles, exclusively by the approval of the Estate’s winemakers team and when the vintage has been rated as exceptional; the wine matures for 18 months in French oak casks and at least 30 months in the bottles before its release; The inevitable question that arises though is to either keeping it according to the “instructions” for later, or to savor it at once?

For the latest issue of Glug Magazine Wine52.com I wrote an article that's a bit different from the usual. It's a (hopefully) fun exploration of what it means to judge a #wine #competition, the types of characters you encounter at the judging table, and the value of these competitions for both consumers and judges. Pretty much everything in the article applies equally well to #beer and #spirits competitions. https://lnkd.in/dmBXGcjn #winejudge #winecompetition #judging #tasting #winetasting

🍷🍷 TIGNANELLO 1971🍷🍷 Tignanello was born from a working group whose protagonists were Giacomo Tachis, who had been in the company since 1961. The great American producer Robert Mondavi was also involved in this development in some way, while Émile Peynaud, who Tachis considered his master, participated as a consultant. . In this team, the role of the "philosopher of Tignanello" fell to Luigi Veronelli who encouraged the operation and advised the name of the wine to be that of the Tignanello farm on the Santa Cristina estate, where the grapes came from. Furthermore, he also subsequently supported many of the choices: from the vineyard reform to the different blends of the seventies, to the different labels and debates on wine. As early as 1970, a Chianti Classico Riserva from Podere Tignanello was released which dusted off the old white label that belonged to Villa Antinori until the 1950s, and which wanted to represent at the same time a rediscovery of the company's tradition but also a technical evolution at a production level. The fact is that that wine, that '70 Riserva, paved the way for what would later become Tignanello and which had obviously been in preparation for some years. The first "official" Tignanello was in 1971 which it involved the use of only red grapes, in this case almost entirely sangiovese with a pinch of canaiolo. 250 liter Slavonian oak barrels were used, and not the classic and almost unknown in Italy barriques, at least for that edition. 2 Bottles Avaiable, ask in pm for more info.

Dynamis Estate Wines | North Carolina 2024 🍇 https://lnkd.in/eW6x2C3r There is a story behind every brand. Here is ours. Dynamis is defined as the potential to obtain limitless power. We symbolize our winemaking journey with the Greek delta. In mathematics the delta has the ability to change the value of any variable. In the same way, a combination of people, place and time can overcome any obstacle in the pursuit of perfection. Our wine represents the path to create Dynamis. Our mission at Dynamis Estate Wines is to achieve premium-quality without compromise. This philosophy drives every decision we make—from vineyard to winery to tasting lodge and everywhere in between. We hand-harvest fruit during the cool cover of darkness and pick grapes into small harvest bins to maintain fruit integrity. Careful cluster and berry sorting ensure fruit quality. Gentle destemming and fruit movement in our fermentation tanks, with an elegant selection of glassware and closures, creates a memorable tasting experience that leaves you wanting more. We handcraft our wines in small lots with the pinnacle of quality in mind and monitor every drop with surgical precision creating a time capsule in a bottle to enjoy for years to come, one vintage after another.

The future of wine festival customer experience is here. It doesn't matter whether you are a winery, operator, influencer, or attendee. The ability to create engaging digital experiences that support and enhance the modern wine festival experience is critical for younger, more digitally-savvy, modern wine consumers. #winefestival #winesales #winemarketing
I believe this is the future of #winefestival vendor, operator, and attendee experience. Using gamification to engage wine festival attendees is critical for reaching younger, more digitally-savvy modern wine consumers. Check out what I just shared with Cassidee Shull from Colorado Mountain Winefest in preparation for the most extensive wine festival in Colorado this Saturday. The ability to support wineries, festival operators, and attendees in my home state is personally fulfilling and I'm so excited to be there on-site this Saturday. #winemarketing #wine #winesales #winemaker #sommelier

Following on the heels of his recent articles on the Bullas DO, Ferran tells us, 'As exciting as the wines from the Bullas DO are, not everyone wants to be part of the denomination. There are multiple reasons behind this choice. It may be that they feel out of step with the values or vision of the DO. Or it may be something more pragmatic, such as the €3,000 entry fee, which might be affordable for the large-volume co-operatives that dominate the DO but less so for a small bodega. These small producers face another handicap, which is that it is difficult for them to find grapes because the co-operatives require that all of their members sell the grapes to the co-operative itself. Thus, vine-growers must either choose the co-operative or sell grapes to a private company; they cannot do both.' He goes on to highlight four extraordinary wineries working outside the Bullas DO which are critical to understanding the wines of north-west Murcia. 🥂 CHAMPAGNE INSIGHT 🥂 Champagne growers, also known as "Récoltant-Manipulant" (RM) in French, are wine producers in the #Champagne region of France who grow their own grapes and produce Champagne from those grapes. The tradition of Champagne growers dates back centuries to the early development of Champagne production in the region. While the larger Champagne houses, known as "Maisons," have historically dominated the market, the importance and influence of Champagne growers have grown significantly in recent decades. Today, many Champagne enthusiasts seek out the artisanal and terroir-driven expressions offered by these smaller-scale producers 🥂 🍾 💫 Have you already tried any of these beauties? 😍 #BespokeWineCollection
