Sales enablement. What does that term even mean? Contrary to popular belief, it's not just giving the sales team every single thing they ask marketing for. Sales enablement is providing sales with the tools they need to make more sales and do it faster. Let's talk about how you can learn more about the sales team and what they need to bolster your sales enablement efforts. First of all, put yourself in your sales team’s shoes. For marketers, a great way to do this is to attend sales meetings with them. I know…uncomfortable! Us in marketing typically like to stay safely behind the scenes. But get out of your comfort zone because it's a great way to see what the sales team is actually talking to advisors about, what advisors are asking and what some of the objections are. You can also get a sense for what sales is facing by attending conferences or due diligence meetings as well, and getting first-hand experience with the target audience of financial advisors. Marketing and Sales: A Powerful Partnership, Not a Turf War Are your marketing and sales teams working together like a well-oiled machine, or are they siloed operations? The truth is, marketing and sales are two sides of the same coin. Marketing generates interest and qualifies leads, while sales takes those leads and converts them into customers. When these departments work in tandem, they create a powerful synergy that drives business growth. Here's why the marketing-sales correlation is crucial: - Marketing attracts potential customers and educates them about your product's value. Sales then swoops in to close the deal with qualified leads. - Marketing insights help sales teams tailor their pitches, while sales feedback helps marketing refine campaigns. This constant communication loop fuels success. - Effective marketing builds brand awareness and trust, making leads more receptive to a salesperson's approach. So, how can you strengthen the marketing-sales bond? - Foster regular interaction between teams. Share goals, metrics, and customer feedback. - Establish clear expectations for lead qualification and handoff between departments. - Sales can provide valuable insights on customer needs to inform marketing content creation. By working together, marketing and sales can become a dream team, driving sales and propelling your business forward! #synergy #marketingsales #collaboration #leadgeneration #businessgrowth
