Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF), a cytokine, is associated with the quality of oocytes. It is also one of the cytokines that embryos cannot produce autonomously. In a published study comparing cytokine levels in oocyte donor follicular fluid, GM-CSF levels were significantly higher where all oocytes were high quality, compared with where <60% were high quality. We are hiring! Our multidisciplinary team, led by Carolina de Weerth, and consisting of Maartje Luijk Anneloes van Baar Joyce Knappe Noortje van Duijnhoven Koos van der Velden and Gianluca Esposito, was so fortunate to receive an NWO Open Competition Large grant to invest the role of physical closeness in parent-infant well-being and development! This also means that we will be hiring. The first vacancy is for a talented postdoctoral researcher! https://lnkd.in/da2EcwD8 The transition to parenthood can be challenging and is often related to mental and physical problems in parents. Parent-infant physical closeness (PIPC) sharply decreases over the first months in Western families, while studies show that PIPC is important for healthy child development and potentially also for maternal wellbeing. PIPC may hence offer unique opportunities to support both child development and new parents’ wellbeing. However, large gaps in knowledge on fathers, causal associations, underlying mechanisms, and long-term relations preclude further developments. Will you help us with further research?

Optimize Your Approach to Managed Vision Care Plans for Increased Profitability Managed vision care plans (MVCPs) are a significant part of modern optometry, but they often come with the challenge of fixed reimbursements that can squeeze practice profits. How can optometry practices navigate this landscape without compromising on the quality of care or financial health? At Partners in Profit, we've crafted strategies that help practices get the most out of MVCPs. By negotiating better terms with suppliers, optimizing lens and frame selections within the plans' allowances, and employing cost-effective clinical practices, we help our members enhance their profitability while maintaining excellent patient care. The key is not just to accept the terms laid out by MVCPs but to actively engage and negotiate aspects that can be controlled. We also focus on training and development for staff to maximize the efficiencies within these constraints, turning potential financial strains into strengths. 💬 Interested in turning your managed care agreements into profitable opportunities? Join us for a deep dive into strategic MVCP management. https://lnkd.in/dmNKnRdP
