How to announce new partners at your law firm....𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿, by me. I once compared the most recent partner announcements for the 10 biggest law firms in Ireland. I discovered that if you removed the logo from the picture (nearly all announcements were a picture of the new partners with the managing partner/chairperson) you couldn't distinguish one from the other, or guess/tell which firm was which. Because, lawyers. I did see a video announcement recently (I think from ALG) but 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 is 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺 the best one I've seen 𝘀𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗿. Firstly, well done to all the new partners, the big promoted heads on you all! (YAY!) 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱? 1. It's different. It's not the standard photo of the new partners in the Atrium with the managing partner/chairperson - Ok, by modern standards in just about any industry but law, it's not exactly revolutionary. But it just goes to show how little you have to do to stand out in legal circles;     2. It shows a little bit of personality for the people actually promoted and gives you a bit of sense of the kind of person they are and a bit about their practice area and what they can do to help you or your business;     3. It showcases their offices (which are in a great location) and paints the firm positively in terms of environment and setting;     4. It reflects well on the Managing Partner (that he was willing to even do it) and in terms of what he says and his engagement;     5. It includes a call to action to aspiring lawyers who might like what they see to get in touch with an open-ended "we are always looking for new talent" call out. 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 That said, it's not perfect. For me, for next time: 1. Tag the new partners in the post announcing their promotion - This is basic. It would enable them to easily expand their network, make valuable connections and connect with the people who like and share the original post. Missed opportunity (go edit the post MHC admin!)     2. Hardcode the captions into the video (FYI most people on the platform view videos with sound off)     3. Have someone interview the partners conversationally, so it doesn't sound too rehearsed. You will get a more natural sounding piece than if you just say "Action" and they start;     4. Include some outtakes and mistakes at the end (or release a second video of outtakes) which will show even more personality to the new promotions and will add personality. Everybody knows there was mistakes. Everybody loves outtakes. Use them and be amazed at how much more people will relate to the people in the video. I was really enthusiastic to participate at the 4th edition of UIA Union Internationale des Avocats Business and Human Rights Forum for Legal Practitioners in Madrid with experts in the field: Luis Fernando Macías Gómez Emily M. Claudia de Windt, LLM Anita Ramasastry Aboubacar FALL Silvestre Tandeau de Marsac Maite Parejo Emiliano Giovine Wendy Taube Emmanuel DAOUD Avinder Laroya, FRSA Amaya Ubeda Carlo Mastellone @steven richman and many more. We dived into the new paradigm of #businesshumanrights based on #UNGP and new EU #CSDDD #CSRD Directives and other international frameworks in force. 🎯 With this enhanced legal framework, how can companies build effective business strategies taking into account human rights, climate change and future generations urgent priorities? We all agree: the clock ⏰ is running and it is time for action. 🟡 My main takeaway from the transversal perspectives gathered and views from all parts of the world: 👉whether at due diligence stage, reporting activities, investments negotiation, or in strategic litigations: 🤝mediation and stakeholders engagement processes must be available and accessible, to reach longstanding sustainable solutions with clear and achievable goals, through active dialogue, balancing industrial and business stakes with immediate human rights and environmental protection needs, ⚖️ and providing appropriate remedies for victims: it is time to give these voices a real seat at the table.
