AI, a buzz word? Definitely not if you consider what a world of difference it means when used in the medical world. ZEISS microscopy, enables here doctors and consecutively patients, to early detect and predict tumor spreading. A best treatment procedure is the result! AI embrace it, when used intellectually.
Precision at the microscopic level in the body: we already enable these capabilities with our innovative technologies. 🔬 ZEISS Axioscan from ZEISS Microscopy gathers up layers upon layers of high-quality images using different techniques to find a circulating tumor cell (CTC) in a single blood draw. Studying CTCs with automated imaging could change the way we care for #cancer patients. It can help predict future outcomes and anticipate how patients will respond to treatments. This makes treatment more effective and focused on the specific needs of each patient. #WorldCancerDay #ZEISS #CloseTheCareGap #Innovation #Health #ArtificialIntelligence

Scientists have developed microrobots capable of targeting liver cancer cells with precision using magnetic fields. 🎯 Researchers have been facing a challenge with microrobots used to treat liver cancer. These tiny robots are guided by magnets, but their weight can sometimes be stronger than the magnetic force, making it difficult to steer them accurately. A new algorithm can determine the best position for the patient's body during an MRI, allowing clinicians to use both the force of gravity and the magnetic field to guide the microrobots more effectively to the tumor site. [HEALTH] Detecting cancer 100 times faster ⏳ It currently takes up to three weeks to diagnose #cancer by analyzing biological tissues. In the near future, multispectral #infrared imaging will reduce analysis time to only one hour, at equivalent levels of reliability. This innovation will speed up patient care and increase chances of survival. 🧐 How does it work? Biological tissue is placed under eight light beams emitting at eight different wavelengths in the mid-infrared range (from 5 to 10 microns). These wavelengths correspond to molecular bonds that are useful to diagnose cancer. Lens-free transmission imaging, combined with machine learning tools, will then determine the possible presence of a #tumor. The whole process is carried out using the same instrument.. 🧠💡 Exploring the Role of Neuroinflammation in Brain Tumor Microenvironments: Challenges and Opportunities In the dynamic landscape of brain tumor research, understanding the microenvironment is crucial. #Neuroinflammation can influence tumor progression, affecting everything from cellular proliferation to treatment responses. However, spatially resolving this complex interaction within the brain's architecture presents unique challenges. Resolution and Specificity: Achieving high-resolution mapping while maintaining specificity in distinguishing between inflammatory and tumor cells. Sample Integrity: Preserving the spatial integrity of the challenging brain tissue samples during analysis. Data Complexity: The sheer volume and complexity of data obtained from spatial transcriptomics require advanced computational tools for meaningful interpretation. Despite these hurdles, #RNAscope technology from Bio-Techne promises unprecedented insights into tumor-associated neuroinflammation with demonstrated confidence, flexibility in samples and genes selected, and easy-to-analyze data that leads to fast actionable results. Learn how you can continue to push the boundaries of what's possible by unlocking spatial insights and improving patient outcomes. I am excited to announce my first conference paper publication, "Automated Lung Cancer Detection Using Lightweight Neural Network" in coauthor-ship with Anand Chauhan, Vibhav Ranjan, Mohd Mohsin and Manish Raj, published by IEEE. Our research introduces a novel lightweight CNN designed for efficient and accurate lung cancer detection from chest X-ray images. Achieving a remarkable 99% accuracy on a diverse dataset, our model demonstrates the potential to significantly improve early diagnosis and treatment outcomes by enabling real-time inference even on resource-constrained devices, making it particularly valuable in rural and underserved communities. For those interested, the paper can be found at: https://lnkd.in/gj9-s3U8 #lungcancerdetection #convolutionalneuralnetworks #medicalimageprocessing #healthcareinnovation #IEEE
