Big news for climate-smart agriculture in Canada! 🌾 I’m excited to share the latest report from our climate-smart agriculture initiative, ‘Growing a net-zero food system’ an open-source framework developed in collaboration with the Canadian Alliance for Net-Zero Agriculture. It’s been an incredible journey engaging with participants across the agri-food value chain - input providers, growers, producers, financial institutions, processors, and retailers, as well as academia, government, and non-government organizations. This framework aims to: ✅Standardize GHG accounting for climate-smart agricultural practices ✅Provide guidance for climate-smart product labeling and certifications ✅Explore pathways for commercializing climate-smart food products Please download Growing a net-zero food system and our measurement methodology in pilot mode, which outlines technical greenhouse-gas accounting practices that can enable organizations to quantify their emissions reductions and removals for key commodities. https://lnkd.in/gGdr7cn5 Thanks to the outstanding team who brought this crucial piece of work to life! Judged by an esteemed panel of experts from WPO World Packaging Organisation, UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), Tomato Jos was recognized for its groundbreaking efforts to combat post-harvest loss, empower small farmers and promote sustainability in Nigeria’s agricultural sector. Mira Mehta, the visionary behind Tomato Jos, is proving that practical, sustainable solutions can transform communities.
