On Sunday night, I had the amazing experience of attending the New York Liberty WNBA championship game with Julia Breen Wall. As we sat in that electric atmosphere, rally towels in hand, I couldn’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia. I was 7 years old when the WNBA first started, and I remember going to Liberty games with my older brother, wide-eyed and in awe of seeing women playing professional basketball. It was more than just a game—it was a glimpse of what was possible for girls like me and a feeling I still carry with me today. What struck me sitting in an arena of 18,090 women's basketball fans, was how much of this success is thanks to female ownership—leaders like Clara Wu Tsai, who have invested not just in the team, but in the future of women’s sports. Their vision and resources have paved the way for these athletes to thrive, setting a powerful example for all of us, especially the next generation of young women. The growth we’re seeing in women’s sports is changing the game, not just for athletes, but for all of us who believe in empowering girls to lead. Female leaders are bringing fresh ideas, making sure resources are directed where they can have the greatest impact. This kind of leadership is what opens doors for young girls everywhere, showing them what’s possible when we invest in their potential. With the right support and leadership, they, too, can make history. #WNBAFinals #WomenInLeadership #GirlsInSports #EmpoweringGirls #NewYorkLiberty #FemaleLeadership #FutureOfLeadership
