Flat like an electric Hamm Compact rollers go electric "These new electric machines run on 23.4-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion batteries, which should provide "enough energy to drive, steer, and compact for a full workday." These new compact electric rollers from Hamm AG are neat devices. Construction sites are absolutely ripe to go electric due to terrible workplace air quality from diesel fumes. NOx, SOx, CO, VOCs and particulates are all extremely toxic, and total global pollution from these nasties shorten the lives of millions annually. However, by going electric, they also drastically reduce CO2 emissions, maintenance and energy costs, and make for a far smoother and quieter vehicle. With high torque, they typically perform much better as machines too. What we're seeing is that the CAM market (Construction, Agriculture and Mining) is rapidly moving to electric for these reasons, and smart machinery OEMs are moving quickly to go electric. Undoubtedly, the lower Total Cost of Operation is a key factor, as well as ESG commitments by companies pledging to do the right thing both to their employees and to the planet.
