Jonathan Reynolds MP maybe its time for a review of the administration process? What I find hard to swallow is when companies say they put the customer first...until things go wrong! here are a few suggestions.. 1...print on all debit cards a warning that you are not covered by credit protection if things go wrong ( we can put warnings on cigarettes! ) 2.. Make it easy for anyone who lost money to at least claim the VAT part back from HMRC as they didnt get the goods or services they were paying for? 3...How can companies still trade when they are so much in debt? maybe the thresholds for administration need to be lower stopping a company trading if they owe so much! 4...Give all instore customers the exact same rights as online especially around changing your mind or a refund. And finally to companies out there who think they put their customers first, stop accepting debit or cash payments for pre orders, offer a pay on delivery day option and stop taking customers money when you know full well you are in trouble!

LL Flooring is the latest retailer to announce a Chapter 11 filing. Known for years as Lumber Liquidators, the company announced the closing of 94 stores with plans to keep 300 units open. The company started out as a "closeout" retailer selling excess wood from other companies. The company rebranded to the LL Flooring brand in 2020. LL Flooring's announcement runs parallel with Big Lots announcement of closing 315 stores. The roots of both retailers harken back to selling closeout goods providing great margins and favorable prices to their customers. It's difficult to scale up a retail business with foundation built around closeouts. TJ Maxx & HomeGoods have mastered their evolution from the closeout business more so than others to date. Let's hope that LL Flooring and Big Lots can continue to find the right mix of inventory that works for their respective businesses and their customers. #retail #retailnews #retailtrends #closeouts #bankruptcy #cre #flooring https://lnkd.in/gnxBtuJA

Industry News: La-Z-Boy is opening new stores, despite expectations for 'volatile' furniture demand CEO says store traffic hampered by higher interest rates, low housing turnover Shares of La-Z-Boy Inc. rallied after hours on Monday after the maker of recliners and other furniture reported fourth-quarter results that topped expectations despite a "volatile" furniture industry hit by a largely frozen housing market. The company also forecast a fiscal first-quarter sales range that was above Wall Street's expectations. And it said it expects "modest sales growth" for the fiscal year ahead, which concludes around the end of April, and that it plans to open 12 to 15 new furniture galleries over that period. La-Z-Boy's stock (LZB) jumped 11% after hours. Shares are down 7.7% so far this year. ————————————————— 💥Over 16 MILLION Square Feet Represented💥 ✅Visit https://lnkd.in/gKX9JcPy for exciting new property listings! ————————————————— #realestate #newenglandretail #property #forsale #retail #realestateinvesting #business #broker #realestatenews #properties #investor #investmentproperty #connecticut #nerp #newengland #connecticutnews #newenglandrealestatenews
