Basis for What You Give We are still celebrating Thirty Days of Thanksgiving. If you base what you give (or how you serve) on who or how much appreciation or likes you will receive, you will be chasing people's appetites for the rest of your life. A person can do a good deed and hand out turkeys on Thanksgiving. Some people will take the turkey, consume it, and show no appreciation at all. Other people will take it, show gratitude, and consume it later. Some people's plates may already be full at home and don't need the turkey. Some are vegetarians, vegans, or just don't like the taste of turkey. Turkey does not coincide with their diet, and no matter how you prepare it, it will not be appetizing to them. Just because what you give does not meet everyone's needs or wants does not mean you stop doing good deeds and exercising generosity. When you can, share the good given to you, and try to help and bring joy, blessings, and perspective into others' lives. Your actions may be impactful for some, ignored by others, and outright rejected by a few, but don’t let that stop you. If you set out to help a community but only see that you helped one family, you still made a positive impact. Be thankful that one family is grateful for your efforts. Think about it. Have a thankful and terrific Tuesday. Thirty Days of Thanksgiving

Reflecting on Gratitude this Thanksgiving 🍁 As Thanksgiving approaches, it’s a perfect moment to pause, reflect, and express gratitude—for both the relationships that sustain us and the opportunities we share. Thanksgiving reminds us of its origins, a time when communities came together to celebrate harvests and mutual support. Today, it serves as a reminder of the values that bring meaning to our lives: 🌟 Gratitude: Whether it’s our family, our friends, or our professional connections, this is the time to acknowledge the people and blessings that make a difference in our journeys. 🤝 Togetherness: Just as Thanksgiving historically symbolized cooperation, we value the partnerships we’ve built. To our customers, colleagues, and collaborators, thank you for being part of our story. ❤️ Generosity: Thanksgiving encourages us to think beyond ourselves—whether that’s through a kind word, an act of service, or supporting those in need. We also recognize the holiday’s deeper history, including its complex legacy for Indigenous communities. This reflection deepens our understanding of resilience, gratitude, and the importance of mutual respect. To our customers, thank you for trusting us to serve you. To our families, thank you for being the foundation that supports us. May this Thanksgiving bring joy, connection, and moments of reflection to all. What are you most grateful for this season? Share below—I’d love to hear your thoughts! #Thanksgiving #Gratitude #Community #Reflection

As we look forward to the Thanksgiving long weekend, here are some #FunFacts about this holiday. Historical Origins: The first official Thanksgiving dates back to 1879, but the tradition of giving thanks for the harvest can be traced even further back to 1578, when explorer Martin Frobisher held a celebration in Newfoundland to give thanks for surviving his journey from England. This predates the Pilgrims' Thanksgiving in the U.S. by more than 40 years. Focus on Harvest: Unlike American Thanksgiving, which commemorates the Pilgrims and Native Americans, Canadian Thanksgiving is more closely tied to celebrating the harvest and the changing of the seasons. Regional Variations: Not all Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving the same way. For example, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island don’t officially recognize it as a statutory holiday. Dinner Traditions: In addition to pumpkin pie, popular desserts include butter tarts, Nanaimo bars, and maple-flavoured sweets. Parades and Festivals: Some cities, like Kitchener-Waterloo, hold Oktoberfest celebrations around the same time as Thanksgiving. There are also parades, including the annual Thanksgiving Parade in Montreal. A Holiday of Gratitude: While it has become more of a harvest festival, our Thanksgiving maintains its original purpose of giving thanks for the past year's blessings and spending time with family and friends. 🎃🍴 🥧 📸 ChatGPT #Thanksgiving2024 #FallHarvest #FamilyFriendsFood
