10-day cybersecurity awareness campaign: Day 3: Software Updates: Keeping Your Defenses Current Software updates often contain security patches that fix vulnerabilities that hackers could exploit. Just like updating your antivirus software, keeping your operating system, applications, and web browsers up to date is crucial for maintaining a strong cybersecurity posture. How to Stay Updated: Enable Automatic Updates: Set your devices and software to automatically download and install updates. This ensures you're always protected against the latest threats. Check for Updates Manually: Regularly check for available updates, especially for critical software like your operating system. Install Updates Promptly: Don't delay installing updates. Apply them as soon as they are available to minimize the risk of exploitation.
