MUST WATCH - Adored this session on "AI & The Future of Work" delivered by the indomitable Christopher Lind and his guest Kian Katanforoosh. So much richness to dig through but absolutely brilliant. Extra credit for making the concepts approachable, topical and relevant. Standouts for me: - The half life of skills (essentially when a skill becomes redundant) is now hovering around 2.5 years. #lifelonglearners rejoice - Determining what are the durable AI skills (for strategy/vision) and the perishable skills (project execution) is crucial for organizations to map their skills and L&D taxonomy - "Learning Velocity" (need THAT T-shirt) will be an organization's sustainable competitive advantage. You can imagine how I'm wondering how you bake that into an organization's #culture - Job Impact tracked against will AI incrementally enhance, augment or automate that task in the next 5-10 years. OECD suggests 30% of current jobs will disappear because AI will enable those to be fully automated. - Smart organizations will chose AI betas that are low stakes but high visibility in order to build positive momentum. Those choosing high stakes projects - like transforming a business model - run the very real risk of failure which will only fuel AI skepticism and resistance. Resist the AI theatre!! This is an hour well-spent IMHO.
