Lessons to be learned 💪💙🩵

👏 Take the breaks, step down when you need to, careers are not linear. There is no perfect path. You can have gaps in your resume, you can move from director down to manager and back up to director again. And if you think I’m full of it, I’ve taken years off, and stepped down and climbed back up. I speak from my own experience. The proverbial corporate ladder doesn’t work for almost anyone . Life isn’t a straight and narrow path! Prioritize what you need and things will always fall into place.

Fail forward

Prioritizing your well-being is not a career detour, it's a power move! Back in 2015, I made the difficult decision to leave NYC to put my family's and my own well-being first. Then in 2018, I took another leap of faith, stepping away from my career to focus on my children for a year and a half. While some might have seen these as risky career moves, they were ultimately the best decisions for me. Taking a pause, while a privilege not everyone has, allowed me to return to the same job feeling refreshed, recharged, and more focused than ever. Remember, prioritizing yourself is not a sign of weakness, it's an investment in your long-term success and happiness. #wellbeing #careerbreak #mentalhealth
