ROA believes that combining advanced technology with organic agriculture will drive future economic power, and this shift is already happening. One of ROA's main objectives is to empower smallholder farmers with Integrated Soil Fertility Management (ISFM) technologies. This approach combines fertilizers, organic inputs, and improved crop varieties to enhance soil fertility, boost yields, and promote sustainable agriculture. By bridging the gap between farmers and scientific advancements, we aim to support and sustain this vital transition. As the capitalist 1st world experiments with the lives of its people, the rest of the world will start looking for organic food from local farmers.

A workshop on 30-31,October 2024 on "Collective Action to Advance Sustainable and Regenerative Agriculture in Ethiopia" organized by WRI. The workshop brought up lessons from MOA, Research Institutes, Private Players, NGOs and donors. On-going experiences on Sustainable and Regenerative Agriculture/Climate Smart Agriculture, Digitalizing Interventions, private Players efforts, etc presented. Among others the presentations on private players on organic fertilizer attempts are encouraging. Some of us pointed out the need for promoting only proven and practically applicable technologies. This demands packaging Sustainable and Regenerative Agriculture, testing at feasible hotspots, collecting required data, analyzing the data, comparing with baseline/control and bringing out only proven technologies/practices to the domain it fits. Though Ethiopia including developing countries demand a lot of interventions we shouldn't ignore country priorities since resource is limited. Running development projects/programs complementing to countries priorities would enhance the desired sustainable development. Another important points requiring attention is standardizing organic inputs like fertilizers, etc formulation to engage private players across climate smart value chain.

Syngenta and Intrinsyx Bio collaborate on sustainable farming solutions Syngenta Biologicals, and Intrinsyx Bio, have announced a partnership to bring a novel biological solution to the global agricultural market. The collaboration will give farmers access to a carefully curated selection of Intrinsyx Bio’s proprietary endophyte formulations. Endophytes are tiny microorganisms that colonize within plants and can directly fix atmospheric nitrogen, making key nutrients such as phosphorus and micronutrients more available to plants. This reduces the need for synthetic fertilizers, allowing farmers to adopt more flexible nutrient management strategies while minimizing the environmental impact of their farming practices. The formulations will be available as seed treatments and foliar applications for various agricultural crops. #krishiupdates #onecgiar #digital #agriculture #ict #biologicals Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture | Syngenta | Syngenta India | Intrinsyx Bio
