In today’s world, where sustainable agriculture is gaining momentum as a solution to climate challenges, it is important to integrate improved technologies and environmentally- friendly agricultural inputs that can enhance soil health, help farmers optimize their resources, and reduce environmental impact. Input supply is critical in the agricultural value chain, as it ensures that farmers have access to essential resources for successful farming. Reliable and timely agricultural inputs directly impact productivity and farm profitability. However, when input supply is inefficient or delayed, the effects can ripple through the entire agricultural system—causing reduced yields, increased costs, and missed market opportunities. As we work towards building a more resilient agricultural sector, improving input supply systems remains a top priority to unlock higher productivity, sustainable practices, and overall success for farmers and agribusinesses alike. #Day5AgriculturalInnovationSeries #Technology #Innovation #Sustainability #DissectingAgriculturalValueChain

“Food production has significant environmental impacts. How fields are managed and treated can influence carbon sequestration and nutrient loading in water bodies,” says Jenni Jääskeläinen, Project Manager in Regenerative Agriculture at Baltic Sea Action Group (BSAG). That's why Gofore and BSAG have teamed up with a shared goal: to develop regenerative farming using modern data processing and user-centred design methods. Regenerative farming is a holistic approach that revitalises the entire ecosystem.🌱 Long-term collaboration culminates in application development: The developed application guides farmers in sensory assessments of soil structure and tracks how results evolve with regenerative farming practices. It motivates farmers to continue these practices and provides data to support decision-making.✨ Steps towards sustainable food production and climate change mitigation: The application is a concrete step towards systematically collected data that replaces guesswork, improves soil health, and helps mitigate climate change while securing future food production. Next, the goal is to explore how the continuously generated data within the food system can be better utilised. 💡 #DigitalSociety #Design #Sustainability

🚜 Transitioning to Regenerative Agriculture: A Tough but Transformative Journey 🌱 Switching from conventional farming to regenerative agriculture is no easy feat. While the potential rewards—richer soil, reduced emissions, and long-term resilience—are compelling, the road is filled with challenges. 🌾 Farmers face upfront costs for new equipment, labor-intensive practices, and even yield dips in the first few seasons. But as we’ve seen with early adopters, regenerative practices can pay off, with some reporting up to a 30% increase in profit margins in the long term. What’s the secret to making this shift successful? Support networks and targeted incentives. Farmers need a safety net during the transition, with local expertise and financial support that help bridge the gap. As some experts say, it’s not just a method change; it’s a mindset shift towards “farming with nature”. Let’s reimagine agriculture for a sustainable future. 👩🌾 If you’re in the industry, what barriers or breakthroughs are you seeing in this journey? Maybe we have more to share... #RegenerativeAgriculture #SustainableFarming #FutureOfFarming #AgriInnovation

As the 2024 Farm Bill takes shape, its potential to transform the agricultural landscape is significant. With agriculture contributing 10% of global carbon emissions (American Progress), the bill’s new iteration will focus heavily on conservation and sustainability. It is expected to support climate-smart practices by funding conservation programs, adapting crop insurance, and encouraging emerging carbon markets. These initiatives will not only enhance the resilience of farmers but also position agriculture as a key player in the fight against climate change. As the bill promotes regenerative farming methods, CPC futures contracts offer investors a timely opportunity to tap into the growing demand for sustainable commodities. This positions them at the forefront of agriculture’s transition to a low-carbon economy. Investors- join now Learn more at gicgroup.com

Bayer is partnering with Trinity AgTech to further drive regenerative agriculture. This is great news! Why? Let me explain. Together with Trinity Agtech’s Sandy platform we will help farmers to reliably measure and monitor carbon on a farm level as part of our Carbon Initiative in the EMEA region. How does this make a difference? Credible measurement is critical for two reasons. Most importantly, it proves the environmental benefits of regenerative agricultural practices. Initial project results show that farmers using regenerative practices emit about 15 percent less carbon than conventional farmers. Impressive, right? Additionally, food value chain partners need reliable measuring technology and data analysis that verify farm carbon reductions and sequestration so they can show they’re delivering against their commitments and regulatory requirements. This also holds big potential for farmers. Based on credible analytics, they can be rewarded for adopting regenerative practices by these food and value chain partners. Great example of how acting together to shape the future of farming works! #RegenerativeAgriculture #DigitalFarming #CarbonFarming #AgTech https://lnkd.in/gh_MZxmx
