Getting ready to launch tickets is never not nerve-wracking. You can do all the market research and demand gauging but ultimately there are some factors beyond your control, including ... a cost of living crisis. In 2023 when we launched Social Media Conference Cymru we had no idea if there was even demand for a social media conference in Wales, but we had an idea that we ferociously believed in and we were passionate enough to take the risk. As it turned out, Earlybird tickets sold out in a day and all tickets were snapped up in 6 weeks - which meant we were a big warm community of 280 at the Principality Stadium in September, the home of the first Social Media Conference Cymru. Witnessing the audience furiously taking notes, engaging in discussions and forging meaningful new connections filled me with pride. That's what these events are all about - soaking up knowledge, igniting inspiration, and connecting with others who share similar experiences and challenges. This year, there are a few changes and improvements... not least, a new (and bigger) venue, a production team and (you heard it here first) breakout rooms and additional sessions. With all this comes extra costs. It's not a cheap event to put on, I'll say that much! So, there are a few other developments we've introduced this year to hopefully make the event as accessible as possible in the current climate: 👩🎓 Discounted student and graduate tickets - if you are a current student or are graduating in 2024, you'll be able to get tickets at the lowest possible price 🌟 There will be a couple of chances to win tickets via specific brand partnerships (more on this in the next few weeks) 🐦 Earlybird tickets - we also had this last year, but it's important to include this tier as 1) It gives people a chance to get tickets at a discounted rate, including rewarding loyal customers on our subscriber list; and 2) It helps organisers with upfront costs and planning So, do subscribe to our waiting list if you're interested in snapping up an Earlybird ticket tomorrow - subscribers will be instantly notified in their inboxes once tickets are live (link in comments) And hopefully, we'll see some friendly new and familiar faces at Social Media Conference Cymru 2024 ❤️

The events industry is an attractive space to operate - more than 40% of the $110bn market is situated in North America with a strong double digit CAGR through to the early 2030's. This is the space that LampPost is operating in, both as a picks-and-shovels approach to the industry through generating awareness for events, as well as accounting for a small slice of the pie through our own hosted events.

I'm often asked my top 5 tips for a successful event, so here you go! 1: Do not have people on stage if they are not doing something. Only bring panellists or chairs up to speak and then find a graceful way to bring them back down! 2: Give people a chance to take it all in! Don't pack too much into your schedule and allow time for breaks and chatting. People need time to process, eat, use the bathroom etc. Sometimes our enthusiasm for the content makes us forget we are dealing with biological humans who have physiological needs! 3: Use as little video as possible and try to use it for dramatic effect rather than to give information. People are at a live event - they want to see real life people talking. 4: Allow panellists at least 10 minutes of time each plus q+a. They've travelled and prepared for this thing - let them make their points! 5: If you are designing an event, speak to a professional MC or events expert *early on* about your programme because once you've started booking things in, it can be often be tricky to walk them back. What a whirlwind week navigating the incredible worlds of Event Tech Live in London and IBTM in Barcelona! 🌍✨ Switching roles between exhibitor and attendee provided a fascinating 360-degree view of our industry. At Event Tech Live, the Kampfire team was front and center, showcasing our latest innovations. Then in Barcelona, we flipped the script and dove deep into the event landscape as attendees. One key takeaway that resonated across both conferences? The critical importance of post-event engagement. In our fast-paced digital world, the real magic happens after the last keynote, the final handshake, and the closing remarks. It's about nurturing connections and transforming brief interactions into meaningful relationships. The energy, the insights, the connections - these conferences are more than just events. 🌟 Big day today! 🌟 I’m excited (and a little nervous) to be one of the speakers at Fuckup Nights Madrid. If you know me, you know I love being on stage—public speaking has always been a passion. But today feels different. Why? Because I’ll be sharing a story I’m still a bit ashamed of. Vulnerability isn’t easy, but I know it’s a crucial part of growth. It’s funny how life works. My company recently offered us a course on creativity, but not in the way you might think—no paintbrushes or musical instruments involved. This was about creative problem-solving—finding innovative ways to turn challenges into opportunities. This course reminded me that no matter what life throws at me, I’ve always managed to find a creative path forward. It’s given me more peace with my mistakes, knowing that creativity is a powerful tool in navigating tough times. I’m still nervous about tonight, but I’m confident that sharing my story will not only help me grow but might resonate with someone out there who needs to hear it. Major FOMO.... Last year I attended both #MJUnpacked conferences in #NYC & #Detroit, and can say I met some of my closest US friends, trusted strategic partners, and first US clients at those events 🇺🇸 Since I can't be on two continents at the same time (maybe soon.. 🤖), I'll be missing this week's big event in New Jersey and heading off to Berlin🇩🇪 But even from across the pond, I'll be there in spirit, and excited to get updates/learning from everyone attending. The reason why the #MJUnpacked Conferences are special... 1) Smaller crowd = more time to stop, say hello, and mingle along the way. Less racing around, more presence, more happen-chance, and great layouts. 2) Powerhouse speaker panels. Some of the best in the (cannabis) business, in a more laid-back format (but with just as much wisdom and learnings) (Are you going to NJ this week? Make sure you get a front-row seat to listen to leah heise, Luna Stower ✨, Jeanne Mariani Sullivan, Willie McKenzie, Shawna Vreeke, PhD, Jill Carreiro and so many others leading across the US). 3) Brand presence and meeting the early local movers/shakers. With the US being so different state by state, there are so many brands, and people, making big local impact. Meeting the people who are on the ground, building the industry, was inspiring and informative. It's great to show up with the curiosity of a learner's mindset and be welcomed with open arms. Last year, MJUnpacked was a game-changer, and life-changer, for me and Emerald Lane Recruitment. Will it be for you? Here’s what Huddl achieved at the recent YYC Data Con 2024: ✅ Attendees personalized their event schedules to fit their interests. 🤝 'Networking Bingo' facilitated new and meaningful connections. 📸 A shared conference photo album allowed attendees to post and access memories live. 💬 Real-time engagement through live Q&A sessions with speakers. 🏆 Interactive activities with opportunities to win exclusive prizes. Huddl recorded 889 activations at YYC Data Con 2024, boosting meaningful interactions and providing organizers with crucial insights into engagement levels and attendee behaviours. These insights help organizers refine event strategies for greater impact.
