Back in January 2022, when it came to personal branding, I didn't have a clue where to start. And I definitely think if I'd done the deep work on giving myself some direction before I started posting, I would've placed myself in a much stronger position. Confession…I failed. Everything went wrong with the hype campaign for the next episode of the podcast. Views were abysmal. I was slacking with my content on 𝕏/LinkedIn. Until… I posted the next episode on YouTube. Doing my normal posting routine… Timed the episode and hyped it up on other platforms. Boom. Views are back on point. People are engaging with the video. All-time high CTR and viewer retention… But hey, that’s not the point. Self-doubt is the enemy of progress. The more I posted content and video, the more self-doubt crept in. “What am I doing wrong?” “Why is this not working?” The answer was simple. Keep going no matter what. Self-doubt is… Only your head telling you—or in this case, my head--that I’m a failure. Sometimes the posts won’t fly. Videos will not get traction. I asked myself: Who cares? Somebody once said: If you don’t get views, it doesn’t matter, nobody will see it. What glorious wisdom. Win-Win.

Breaking news: I went on LinkedIn Live as a guest... and somehow lived to tell the tale. The best part? I didn’t knock over my coffee, forget my own name, or accidentally log off mid-sentence. (Low bar, but let’s celebrate small wins, right?) Now I’m left with a dangerous thought: If I can survive this, should I start a podcast? I mean, I’ve already mastered the art of talking into the void while hoping someone’s listening. Seems like the natural next step. So tell me: Is starting a podcast a brilliant idea or the fastest way to make your friends hit “ignore”? For those who’ve done it, how do you survive hearing your own voice on playback? Asking for a friend. (Okay, it’s me.)

Just analysed a 60-minute podcast episode and found GOLD. Not just one or two, but 5+ viral-worthy clips hiding in plain sight. The secret? Look for emotional peaks, surprising facts, and those 'aha' moments. In our latest project, a single throwaway comment about productivity hacks turned into our client's most-shared reel. Sometimes the best content isn't where you expect it. P.S. That 'throwaway' clip? Most watched reel for my client!! #Podcast #ContentStrategy

When starting a podcast THIS is the MOST IMPORTANT thing: Your "why?" If you don't know why you want to start a podcast, or whom you are wanting to serve, it will probably fail. Who wants to watch or listen to a show that has no direction? Find more nuggets like this in my riveting conversation with Chris Stone from Cast Ahead. Spoiler alert: the awesome microphone can wait. Figure out the "why" and "who" first. Then build from there. Watch the full episode of The Video Dadcast! Check the Comments for the link.
