Every PE-hosted offsite is a test. Stop thinking PE-hosted offsites are your chance to get hammered for free. Every single one is a test, and they’re inspecting. Smart people treat it as an opportunity to show value, not a chance to kick back. Your investors are watching every move. They’re evaluating whether you understand their financial goals and whether you're aligned with the company's future. If you think it’s just a getaway, you’re missing the point. Offsites are where careers are made or broken. Treat it like a test, or get ready to fail it.

Layoffs are never easy—but how they’re handled speaks volumes about your organization’s values. The goal? To ensure dignity, respect, and support for everyone involved. Here are best practices for managing this tough process humanely: 1. Clear, Transparent Communication: Ambiguity breeds anxiety. Be honest about the reasons for layoffs and ensure employees understand the “why” behind the decision. How often do we underestimate the power of clarity? 2. Personalized Exit Support: From career counseling to resume workshops, offering resources to help employees transition can make a lasting impact. What’s one way your organization supports exiting employees? 3. Empathy at Every Step: Leaders set the tone. A compassionate approach during exit conversations can turn a difficult moment into one of mutual respect. Layoffs are about more than business—they’re about people. Organizations that handle them with care protect their reputation and build trust for the future. We will be covering more such insights and dive deeper into such concepts in the fellowship. We are currently accepting applications for our founding cohort. To apply, visit: https://lnkd.in/gyxFy2K8

Why quit instead of getting fired? Quitting allows you to retain control over the circumstances of your departure, making it easier to frame things positively with future hiring managers. Getting fired can feel like a black mark, but it also prompts invaluable self-reflection to get clarity on better career alignment going forward

#Layoffs are expected to continue... Businesses will be more concerned about their balance sheets and shareholders. In reality It takes time to renegotiate prices and contracts with suppliers and contractors and businesses might not be able to re-balance their balance sheet in time for re-valuation. Sadly, the fastest way to reduce the expenses quickly on the balance sheet is to reduce manpower costs. We have to understand the direct effects of rising 10-20yr #Treasury #Yields on refinancing costs of mortgages and businesses. This actively forces businesses that are caught off guard to re-evaluate their financial situation instantly. Start positioning ourselves personally and financially to avoid risks that could set us up for unforeseeable shocks... 🔸 Due diligence about your employer's financial situation. 🔸 Be very clear about your own personal finances. 🔸 Always have a Plan B, C, D... 🔸 Diversify your income. 🔸 Diversify your savings. 🔸 Diversify your investments. Supplementary Information: ================================== Layoffs Tracker: https://lnkd.in/eH4Y5yth ================================== P.S. Chloe Shih I had to share your YouTube reel to prove my point. The emotions were so raw.

If you've ever said "you'll be drinking thru a fire hose" You're gushing in lost operational output So what that you have all your SOPs documented So what that you hired 640 of the best rockstars If you put the new hires to work on Day 1 You're likely cutting a lot of corners Even though FedEx had a 3-day training program It was OBVIOUS in the Terminals that DIDN'T follow it Think about the BEST job you've ever had Why was it the BEST job you've ever had? Bet it had something to do with Orientation Yes the part where it's the honeymoon phase And it's a similar experience to buying a house You are signing paper after paper, no time to read Why should you This is THIS COMPANY They do this ALL the time This is STANDARD paperwork Until ALL of it is used against you Well, you signed this 3 years ago So you KNEW what you signed up for That's deceptive, underhanded, and foul Take the time There is a LOT to cover And there is a way to get floor time the first few days without new hires feeling deserted I say the ideal orientation is 3 to 5 days 5 days if your REALLY got your stuff together Because that means you will Orient on a Monday From 24 years of experience Monday is "always a busy day" But that's mainly by YOUR choice Orientations work BEST Starting on Tuesday or Wednesday It should be a progressive experience We will watch videos 1-5 then verify documents I9 - Forms You will meet So-and-So We will watch videos 6-10 Then we will do tax documents Followed by videos 11-15, then direct deposit We will then observe directly on the floor How these videos apply in real time to the job you will perform When you do this for 3 to 5 days It gives the new hires time to absorb and apply the newly acquired information I don't understand what there is to dispute about it Why put so much time into hiring rockstars to give them an inhospitable welcome? Hiring 640 Rockstars is only part of the equation Keeping 640 Rockstars starts on Day 1 Orientation is YOUR first impression You'll never get a 2nd chance Make it count How? I offer a complimentary 30-minute discussion to walk through what that looks like for you. Getting Warehouses MORE thruput using the SAME hours. #strategy #business #creativity #innovation #xpandurangeamotion
