One-and-done sales training is a waste. Sales is a skill, not a script. Effective learning needs structure. Many sales teams or sales "trainers" ignore L&D expertise. Sales leaders should partner with L&D to create tailored training. Avoid fly-by-night programs that teach by rote, which is so much of the poorly created training out there.
