Had an awesome weekend updating and improving my Microsoft 365 Discovery Report Tool. Some major updates to it, but the tool now reports on these additional items in the M365 environment. Azure AD Devices (details of JoinType, OS, Last Connection, etc.) License Count/Consumption SharePoint Libraries Calendar Permissions (for each individuals, multiple calendars) Unified Groups Public Folders Security Groups Domains In addition to everything that it already did..... Exchange Online Mailboxes (Size, Item Counts, Delegates, Full User Details, License Info, Full SMTP list, etc.) Teams (Teams/Channels/Sizes/Permissions) OneDrive Sizing SharePoint Sites (Permissions, Site Details) MFA Report (Full List incl. Guests) Guests Contacts Distribution Lists Basically it's pretty much everything you need to perform a full Microsoft 365 Tenant Discovery, all collated into a single Excel sheet with tabs for each workload. Check it out here. https://lnkd.in/gXb-AuBs Also, the YouTube channel with all my migration/cloud related content is here - https://lnkd.in/gN52V-qx Mark - The Cloud Geezer #microsoft #microsoft365 #cloud #cloudmigration #migration #discovery #powershell #scripting #scripts #tools #digitaltransformation #reporting #reports #developerlife

One of the main advantages of #CoPilot in my opinion is the fact that you just ask a question, and you'll get a easy to understand answer. As an example, I asked CoPilot for the differences between #syncing and adding a shortcut to #OneDrive when it comes to #SharePoint, here is the answer. One personal addition, you need to choose and can't have both for a Library. The main differences between syncing and adding a shortcut to OneDrive in SharePoint are as follows: 𝐒̲𝐲̲𝐧̲𝐜̲𝐢̲𝐧̲𝐠̲:̲ 🎯 Syncing allows you to create a local copy of your SharePoint files on your computer using the OneDrive sync client. 🎯 This enables offline access to files, allowing you to work without an internet connection. 🎯 Changes made to the local files will automatically sync with the SharePoint library when you go online. 🎯 Syncing consumes local storage space as files are stored on your device. ⚠ There’s a potential for sync conflicts if multiple users edit the same file while offline. 𝐀̲𝐝̲𝐝̲𝐢̲𝐧̲𝐠̲ ̲𝐚̲ ̲𝐒̲𝐡̲𝐨̲𝐫̲𝐭̲𝐜̲𝐮̲𝐭̲ ̲𝐭̲𝐨̲ ̲𝐎̲𝐧̲𝐞̲𝐃̲𝐫̲𝐢̲𝐯̲𝐞̲:̲ 🎯 Adding a shortcut does not sync files to your computer; it creates a link to the SharePoint library in your OneDrive. 🎯 Files are accessed directly from the cloud, so no local storage is used. ⚠ You need a stable internet connection to access files as nothing is stored locally. 💡 It’s easier to organize and access SharePoint files within the OneDrive interface. 🌍 Suitable for users who primarily work online and want to save local storage space. ✍ In summary, if you need offline access and have sufficient storage, syncing may be better. If you mostly work online and want to save space, adding a shortcut could be more suitable. ❓ Which of the two are you using, and why?

🌟 Azure Files 🆚 SharePoint: Best Document Storage Option 🌟 ▶︎▶︎▶︎ https://lnkd.in/dQT9vRUu Choosing between Azure Files and SharePoint for document storage isn't one-size-fits-all; it hinges on your specific needs. SharePoint excels in collaboration, integration with Microsoft 365, and structured document management. On the other side, Azure Files offer a solid choice for those needing vast storage capacities, support for legacy applications, and straightforward filesystem access.

Never ever sync. For the editor of a file it‘s synced/pushed up immediately - but everyone else may be working within an outdated version, for a looooooong cloud minute (20min+ absolutely standard) also, do you trust your users to recognize and inform on sync errors/warnings - yes you can check for them in config.office.com when reporting is activated, but still… why would you even consider syncing offline when your are online 99% of the time and with 4G and 5G quick hotspots absolutely sufficiently regarding speed connected to your data?

Want to know one simple way to increase your Azure consulting sales? SharePoint. Yep, it is back from the dead. 2023 was a tough year to be a SharePoint pro but we have seen a surge in demand for this skillset. Here's what's driving the market. 1. Intranet redesign - Organizations are either refreshing and enhancing what they have or dropping third-party intranet products and picking SharePoint Online because they get this for "free" with their Azure licenses. 2. Moving File Shares to Azure -Companies are dumping file and print servers in favor of OneDrive and SharePoint Online. Who wants to manage on-premises servers when each user gets 1 TB of storage for "free" with their Azure licenses? See a trend? Next time you are in front of an important client or prospect, use these tips to sell more and hit your quota! #Azure #SharePoint
