Oil spill? The tiny warriors are ready to clean! Alcanivorax, Pseudomonas, and Marinobacter are the top three bacterial species scavenging oil from our oceans. They are native to all oceans. 'Alcanivorax borkumensis' uses exclusively petroleum hydrocarbons as an energy source (hydrocarbonoclastic). It tolerates high salt content and survives in a wide temperature range. It grows fast and becomes abundant as soon as the water gets contaminated with oil. It was the main savior after 'Deepwater Horizon' oil spill of 2010. More advantageous- It is found near the surface of water, where oil floats. Bacteria like this are better options for spill control than other more devastating – skim burning, chemical spray, etc. Also, its presence can give clues about oil occurrence. #oilspill #alcanivorax

Sulfur can be challenging to apply efficiently because sulfate is water soluble and moves freely with soil water, making it susceptible to loss through leaching during spring rainfall events. 🌦️ SideMate™ is our solution for this challenge! https://bit.ly/43pfwKZ

Difference Between surface source of water and Sub-surface source of water *Sub-surface source of water 1.They are in the forms like stream ,ponds ,rivers and strong reservoirs *They are in the forms of infiltration galleries, infiltration wells , spring and wells 2.They are sometimes highly polluted and unsafe to consume . They contain inorganic impurities and industrial wastes cost of treatment is more *They are generally free from impurities because of natural filtration but may contain large amounts of dissolved salt ,mineral 3.A huge quantity of water is available during monsoon but is considerably reduced during summer *The quantity of water available is generally limited 4.Surface water may contain pathoganic bacteria 🧫🦠🦠 *Sub-surface free from pathogenic bacteria #postbyroshan #45dayschallenges #day20 #civilengineer

Summer ammonia removal via nitrification is less of a challenge for lagoons than cold weather ammonia removal, as nitrifying bacteria are temperature sensitive and thrive in warmer water. The interplay between algae and bacteria, dissolved oxygen, pH, and temperature determines the pathway and rate of nitrification. Read our tips on how a lagoon can be optimized for summer ammonia removal. https://zurl.co/QaU4
