National Inclusion Week at P3 Charity (People Potential Possibilities) At its core, inclusion means ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background, abilities, or circumstances, has the opportunity to thrive. It means creating spaces where individuals feel valued, heard, and respected. This philosophy is at the heart of **P3**, where our mission is to support those who face the most complex challenges in life, helping them build resilience, independence, and a sense of belonging. Inclusion isn't just something we do—it’s something we live every day. Our staff, volunteers, and partners work tirelessly to break down barriers, ensuring that no one feels left out or isolated. We strive to provide services that meet people where they are, offering tailored support that empowers individuals and builds inclusive communities. But inclusion is not a task we can achieve in isolation. We need the engagement and involvement of the entire community to make this vision a reality. And here in **Cambridgeshire**, we are fortunate to have a community that cares deeply about the wellbeing of every individual, from the most vulnerable to the most fortunate. Today, I had the privilege of attending two inspiring events: 1️⃣ Empowering People with Disabilities: A collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources to prepare people with special needs for an inclusive future. 2️⃣ Brainstorming for Al-Baydha Community: Led by Al-Baydha Society, focused on creating impactful initiatives for the community. 💡Meeting visionary individuals at both events reinforced my belief in the power of collaboration between non-profits and the private sector. Pass it on. “I don’t have time,” is a common and often justified statement in this busy, chaotic world. The imposed 24/7 , always on culture if you want to “make it,” stops you even realising where life or your career is going. I regularly witness how adults lose sight of who you are as a whole person. You miss out on seeing the person you can be. You don’t know what you don’t know but it could be huge. Volunteering, despite the “busy,” even once a year, can give you a respite unlike any other. In spite of how busy you feel, volunteering as part of something bigger can improve your wellbeing and allow you to discover more about yourself. You’ll learn things about yourself and gain new perspectives. I’ve volunteered for most of my adult life - it was driven by me wanting everyone to have a fair chance at life. Equality and fairness have driven me my entire life, having grown up witnessing such inequity. I’ve supported (sometimes very disengaged) secondary school children with CVs, interview techniques and confidence, I’ve been a parent helper at a primary school supporting children to read and build confidence, I’ve been a school governor at a critical stage of school development, I’ve provided pro bono coaching and mentoring, I’ve supported women with a long term health condition, I’ve offered pro bono wellbeing support, I’ve helped women in business with a platform to build confidence and have a voice, I’ve helped adults build presentation and confidence skills. I volunteer now with the Women Solicitors Committee too, where we push for greater equality for females in law. Everything I do is about fairness and treating all humans with respect. This is the cornerstone of why I do what I do - volunteering helps others to feel better about themselves, uncovers their strengths in ways they may not have perceived and this has a ripple effect.
