Real Estate Interesting Fact - Iconic Buildings Around the World You Need to See Before You Die: The Sistine Chapel — Vatican City In 1508 CE the Pope commissioned the celebrated Florentine sculptor and painter Michelangelo (1475-1564 CE) to paint scenes on the ceiling of the Vatican's Sistine Chapel. The walls of the chapel had already received decoration from some of the greatest of Renaissance artists, but in four years of toil, Michelangelo would outshine them all with his ambition and technical skill, producing one of the defining works of Western art of any century. The multi-panelled ceiling shows the story of Genesis from the Creation to Noah and the Great Flood. Essentially, the scenes show the creation of humanity, its fall from grace, and ultimate redemption. https://lnkd.in/eH_3g-tG

Lindy Lee AO is an acclaimed Australian contemporary artist whose work explores themes of identity, spirituality, and our connection to nature. Drawing inspiration from her Chinese heritage and Zen Buddhism, Lee creates powerful artworks that fuse traditional techniques with cutting-edge technologies. Known for her intricate metal sculptures and paintings that incorporate light and shadow, her practice delves into the cyclical nature of life and the universe. Ouroboros, Lindy Lee’s monumental public sculpture, is now on display at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra. Inspired by the ancient symbol of a snake eating its tail, the work reflects the eternal cycle of life, death, and renewal. Visitors are invited to step inside the sculpture, experiencing a cosmic interplay of darkness and light through its perforated, glowing surface. By day, the mirrored exterior reflects the surrounding landscape, while at night, it radiates an otherworldly light.
