Top 10 ways NOT to achieve lubrication excellence in your business 1. Don’t change anything. “We have done it this way for 20 years so it must work” 2. Oil is oil & Grease is Grease. “Use whatever is convenient and on offer this week” Don’t waste time worrying if it’s the correct product we’re using just pump it in and tick the box. 3. Buy your lubricants at the lowest cost possible. Pretend the “spreadsheet saving of 20%” is game changing for the business. Higher cost lubricants are all just a big marketing scam RIGHT?? 4. Give lubrication to the lowest paid member of staff . “It’s just chucking some grease in, How hard can it be?” 5. Avoid documenting any of your lubrication procedures. “If we don’t record it did it really happen” “Yes of course we have been greasing it weekly like the manual said”. 6.
