The Festival of Future is (almost) here! 🔮🌘 I’m excited to meet our members, partners, and friends at this incredible event which will start next week on Tuesday, September 10. There are many interesting topics and discussions within the program, but my favorite is AI. It is clear that technology will play a pivotal role in shaping our society. AI is at the forefront of this transformation, offering immense potential to revolutionize industries and improve our quality of life. However, with this potential comes the responsibility to ensure that AI is used ethically and for the benefit of all. Slovakia has long been known for its strong automotive industry, but we believe that the future lies in diversifying our economy and building a skilled workforce that can drive innovation and add value. By embracing technology and investing in research and development, we can transition from an assembly-based economy to one that is driven by knowledge and expertise. AI can help Slovakia rise to these challenges not only in the automotive sector, but also help its entry among the elite group of countries that bring innovations. A crucial part of this vision is nurturing and retaining our talented individuals. It is imperative that we create an environment where students and skilled professionals see their future in Slovakia as they will be vital in driving our country forward. We must invest in education, provide opportunities for growth, and ensure that our brightest minds have reasons to stay and thrive here. The Festival of Future is a celebration of this vision. On the first day of the festival, which I am most looking forward to, we will focus on the digital agenda, exploring how information and technology can shape our future. We will discuss the importance of digital literacy, why we shouldn’t be afraid of AI, and how to harness the power of technology to drive progress. This event is not just about the future of Slovakia, but about the future of the world. The decisions we make today will determine the path we take tomorrow. AmCham Slovakia team thank you for making it happen!👏👍 https://lnkd.in/eMx5YFAC

These slogans made absolutely no sense being written on exhibitors’ booths at Gitex (one of the biggest tech exhibitions in the world). - We handle it - It’s future-proof - Solutions for every challenge - Elevate your innovation - Empowering your potential - Driven by excellence - Transforming possibilities - Shaping the future together - Your vision, our mission - Redefining the standard - Where innovation meets execution And — ta-daam — one of my favourites: - The Solution You Need! (How would they know?!) When you’re walking down the aisles of a huge exhibition hall, you have just a few seconds to 1) Understand what is being offered 2) Get curious and stop So, for the brands that don’t boast wide recognition it’s harmful to communicate on this level of abstraction. Just SAY WHAT YOU DO! ___________________________________ Is it adding more tasks for your content team to consider? If only there were an app to automate it 🧐 (oh, wait...)

The Festival of Future is (almost) here! 🔮🌘 🔜 Join us from September 10 to better understand the transformative forces defining the risks and opportunities shaping our future! On Day 1, as a part of the "Digital Everything - Creation of the New Galaxy" conference, trend forecaster and experienced consultant 🤟🏻 Pavlína Louženská will share her thoughts on our ability to predict the future. What can you look forward to? As she put it: 💡My theme for the conference is "How Can We Predict the Future?" 🔮 I will explain that while it has always been possible to predict the future, it is becoming increasingly complex despite our access to advanced data. I will discuss the phenomenon of trends dying out and how this indicates a loss of a common language, and I will explore what we can do to address this issue. Pavlína was also kind enough to answer two additional questions as a part of her personal invitation to the The Festival of Future: ❔What trend with the biggest potential impact on our lives is mostly overlooked or ignored? 💡We often focus on technology when considering the future — AI, VR headsets, nanotechnology. However, we don't discuss humanity enough! The emotions and sentiments that shape our lives far more profoundly than the mere presence of a phone in our pocket. This is why I frequently write about loneliness, communities, and the search for meaning, even though my work is closely connected to technology. ❔In what way, that is presently hard to imagine, will our lives be different in 15-20 years? 💡By 2030, 25% of Europeans will be over 65, and by 2050, this number will be even higher. Our society has never faced anything like this before. We will need to change how we work, care for the elderly, and approach policymaking. ____________ 🙏🏻We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our partners for this amazing event! ⭐PARTNERS OF THE FUTURE: McDonald's Slovakia, Philip Morris International, Swiss Re ⭐PREMIUM PARTNERS: Center for International Private Enterprise, Citi, Dell Technologies, PwC Slovakia, SUSTAINOVA, Tatra banka ⭐MAIN PARTNERS: Biogen, CECHOVA & PARTNERS, Circular Slovakia, DÔVERA zdravotná poisťovňa, a. s., EY, Glocco, IBM, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Slovakia, Novartis Slovakia, Roche Slovensko, Soitron, Wolf Theiss, Zimmer Biomet ⭐PARTNERS: AbbVie, Amgen, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, SK+MED - Slovenská asociácia dodávateľov zdravotníckych pomôcok Are you ready for what the future holds? 🔮 Registration is open, join us at The Festival of Future to explore the elements of transformation, uncertainty, and opportunity. https://lnkd.in/eYanZJav #TheFestivalOfFuture #AmChamSlovakia30 #AreYouReady #MegaTrends #CyberThreats

The Festival of Future is (almost) here! 🔮🌘 🔜 Join us from September 10 to better understand the transformative forces defining the risks and opportunities shaping our future! During all three days of the festival, you will have the opportunity to attend a carefully prepared selection of Topical Focus Events. These will provide you with practical insights into the most desired skills for the future. Two of these special workshops will be led by DEVELOR Slovakia 👉 Don’t be Afraid of AI! https://lnkd.in/etx-BPVG 👉 Back to the Future Leader: Atlantis - Labyrinth of perspectives https://lnkd.in/ewh6Eexp ✅ Don't hesitate and book your spots! We've approached Martin Kunc, Managing Director of DEVELOR Czech & Slovakia to offer his perspective on the skills for the future. ❓ When considering the digital revolution, what important aspects of human capital and skill development are often overlooked? In your view, what are the essential skills for the future, and why? 💡 "The digital revolution often emphasizes technical skills, but crucial aspects of human capital—like emotional intelligence, collaboration and complex problem-solving—are frequently overlooked. Future leaders must bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and modern leadership skills, mastering both rational and collaborative skills. In our workshop, participants will engage in interactive activities that foster essential future skills like Sense-Making — the ability to discern meaningful patterns in vast amounts of data — and Navigating Challenging Discussions, crucial for managing both rational and emotional aspects of leadership. Drawing from the "Back to the Future" concept, tomorrow’s leaders need to excel in Deep Listening to understand underlying emotions, Forward Problem-Solving to anticipate and address future challenges, and Managing Dilemmas, where conflicting values must be balanced. These skills are not just beneficial but essential for navigating the complexities of leadership in the digital age." ____________ 🙏🏻We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our partners! ⭐PARTNERS OF THE FUTURE: Citi, Hurricane.sk, McDonald's Slovakia, Philip Morris International, Swiss Re ⭐PREMIUM PARTNERS: Center for International Private Enterprise, Dell Technologies, DÔVERA zdravotná poisťovňa, a. s., PwC Slovakia, SUSTAINOVA, Tatra banka ⭐MAIN PARTNERS: Biogen, CECHOVA & PARTNERS, Circular Slovakia, CMS, EY, Glocco, IBM, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Slovakia, MSD Slovensko, Novartis Slovakia, O2 Slovakia, Roche Slovensko, Soitron, SPP, VOID Security Operations Center, Visa, Wolf Theiss, Zimmer Biomet ⭐PARTNERS: AbbVie, Amgen, AstraZeneca, Dr. Max Slovensko, Pfizer, SEDMA, SK+MED - Slovenská asociácia dodávateľov zdravotníckych pomôcok, Slovenské elektrárne, Takeda, Váš Lekár #TheFestivalOfFuture #SkillsForFuture

Our large portfolio of medical technology trade shows, incl. the upcoming MEDICA - Leading International Trade Fair, are since many years center stages and must-be events for the global healthcare industry. Technological progress and know-how transfer in this sector is extremely important for the living standard of any society in both the developing and devlopoed world. In many developed countries the shortage of skilled medical care labor has become so severe that only with the help of technical advancement, such as AI-supported surgeries and use of data or deployment of cobots during a night shift or digital twins providing remote assistance during a surgery. In my latest editorial at https://lnkd.in/e2nW-tTr I share my thoughts why trade shows are catalysts for change and which contribution they can deliver to any society and economy.

ESOMAR Congress 2024 was as inspiring and glorious as where it took place, Athens. The whole experience was filled to the brim with insightful content, energizing discussions, and meaningful connections. After a weekend to catch my breath and reflect, I want to share a couple of thoughts from the conference: 1) I always knew the value of in-person connections, but it felt even more profound this time. Seeing many familiar faces from Zoom only walking towards me three-dimensionally or sitting next to each other was delightful. The thoughtful ones seemed even more thoughtful, and the fun ones even more fun. Those moments made the fact that we live literally across the globe feel surreal. Thank you to the entire ESOMAR team for creating such a wonderful experience for all of us. 2) It felt incredibly human-centred for a conference with 90%+ AI-related content (I only learned about that on the way to the airport coming back). The closing keynote was particularly inspiring. In her talk "The Future of Human Potential," Vivienne Ming said, "What AI is, fundamentally, the known… In the world of AI, it is literally YOU that's of value." That's so true. It’s the “mind” that glorifies the “machine”. It’s our unique aims and purposes that make a difference. I left the conference feeling encouraged and excited about a future where AI helps bring out the best in us, making the world a better place. (Picture taken at sunrise on Thursday Sept 12)

Today is the start of FTI and& | 16 → 20 March 2024, the Leuven chapter of Flanders Technology & Innovation. We, the Flemish, just like our Wallonian & Brussels' counterparts, we are seldomly proud, we shrug our shoulders and move on to the next thing. We are often prone to easy cynicism, focusing on things that could have been better. We're - on average - not the tech enthusiasts, rather reluctant to embrace change. It's what we tell ourselves. It's my hope this week can contribute to a different story. A story where we can use technology, not as a primary goal, but as a catalyst for the inhabitants of Flanders and beyond to thrive. A story, where we realise we are all talented in our own unique way. As one of the two curators of the festival, I'm proud that thousands of people in my home town will learn about technology and science, get a brain shower, and above all have fun. Exchanging different perspectives, coming together, that's where the magic happens, that's what makes us human. If we've done our job well, people will feel a spark for a positive future. Because that's what we need and it is within reach: We're the current generations, it's in our power to be an incredible force for good for ourselves, our children and the ones that still will be born, the future generations. Yes, we face tremendous challenges and we don't know if all of our efforts will be enough, and that in itself is scary. But if we have the courage to move forward, if we don't fall for cynicism and insecurity, I believe we can thrive. That's what "FTI" has meant to me for the last year. I hope to meet you this week, here at home in Leuven or in Antwerp next Sunday. #fti #ftileuven #timeforacelebration
