It’s time for Australia to embrace a knowledge-rich curriculum. - A knowledge rich-curriculum clearly articulates what students will learn, the essential knowledge and related skills. - Teachers can better identify where students sit developmentally, not just academically and can support students to understand this. - Aligns with the research about how student’s learn - reduces inequity in our system - can assist connections between curriculum and - may also reduce teacher workload, enabling teachers to develop/ design lessons and potentially lessening the time spent on research. I am excited for what the future might hold if Australian education systems were to embrace this, and the implications for professional learning, teacher retention, premade lesson plans or tools etc. A good read from Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO)

Delighted to be spreading the word about the The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education funded 'Educator’s toolkit for inclusive employability development through the curriculum'. Our case study in the new Advance HE case studies publication details how we developed the toolkit and how it can be used by educators to strengthen the inclusivity of embedded employability education, both within curriculum design that's explicitly employability focused and discipline specific curriculum design. Big news! The Victorian Curriculum F–10 Version 2.0 is now live! This is a contemporary, knowledge rich curriculum that empowers Victorian students to meet the challenges and opportunities present in our constantly changing world. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g24__4Bs ⭐This release is hosted on our new and easier to use website and includes the Arts, Technologies, Humanities, Health and Physical Education, Languages (Phase 1), Science, the capabilities, cross-curriculum priorities and the foundational skills. This follows the curriculum release of English 2.0 and Mathematics 2.0 in 2023. 📽 To support this release, we have created a series of introductory resources and videos. Located on the resources page for each curriculum area, these videos outline key revisions, highlight important aspects of the curriculum and describe the learning impact for students. 💻In addition, a series of interactive webinars are scheduled throughout Term 3 (July - September), which will give teachers and school leaders the opportunity to have questions answered by VCAA curriculum managers. Vic Curriculum 2.0 for HPE has been released!! We’ve got you! 👊🏼 Whilst implementation isn’t required until 2026, we’ll start moving everything across for you and looking at new ways to meet curriculum requirements! We love that content descriptors are more closely aligned to achievement standards, there is more focus on ‘demonstrating’ & ‘participating’, and student outcomes are focused on health & wellbeing.
