It is Earth Day today. Lately, I find it increasingly hard to believe we are heading towards, at least, a livable future. Despite the groundbreaking discoveries about our planet's boundaries (that give me great amounts of joy and hope), we are still missing action to put that knowledge to work, we are still dependent on the decisions of toxically influential minorities. Even though we know what the direction should be, we are painfully slow at making the necessary turn. However, even though it might seem grim, we have to stay persistent. Be critical about all those sustainability claims you see left and right nowadays and educate yourselves on what it really means. Long gone are the days when the topic was abstract and only for hippies. The planet needs people who know what is happening and use that awareness to inform their decisions - voting (first and foremost), and then simple things like choosing what and where to shop, how to commute, where to live, etc. It is hard, but there is simply no other choice but to keep trying. Happy Earth Day! #earthday

🌍 A friendly post-Earth Day reminder! Each Earth Day I love seeing the influx of posts about how people are connecting with our planet and showing it the attention it deserves. However, the day after Earth Day always has me wishing we could collectively carry that same level of awareness with us each day. We all know our actions have an impact on the environment around us - both positively and negatively. In fact, many of you shared this exact sentiment yesterday in discussing the ways in which we commute, what we consume, how we dispose of waste, and so on. Don't let the passion and momentum of yesterday end today - we need it to move the big rocks in front of us as we work towards a carbon-free future. So let's treat Earth Day not as a single event, but as an annual reminder to rededicate ourselves to being better stewards of the planet. The health of our planet depends on all of us to make sustainability a way of life, not just a 24-hour observance. #EarthDayEveryday #Sustainability #TakeAction

As we celebrate World Earth Day today, let's take a moment to reflect on the profound message of Michael Jackson's timeless anthem, "Earth Song." Released in 1995, this song continues to resonate deeply with listeners around the world, serving as a poignant reminder of the urgent need to protect and preserve our planet. In "Earth Song," Jackson's emotive vocals and stirring lyrics convey a sense of despair over the environmental degradation and destruction facing our world. Through poignant imagery and powerful symbolism, he paints a vivid picture of the devastation wrought by human actions, from deforestation to pollution to the plight of endangered species. Yet, amidst the despair, "Earth Song" also carries a message of hope and responsibility. Jackson implores us to awaken to the reality of our impact on the Earth and to take action to heal and restore it. His call for unity and collective action underscores the importance of coming together as a global community to address the pressing environmental challenges we face. As we mark World Earth Day today, let's heed the timeless wisdom of "Earth Song" and reaffirm our commitment to environmental stewardship. Let's pledge to stand up for our planet, to advocate for sustainable practices, and to cherish and protect the precious natural resources that sustain life on Earth. In the words of Michael Jackson, "What have we done to the world? Look what we've done. What about all the peace that you pledged your only son?... What about us?" Let's honour World Earth Day not just today, but every day, by working together to create a brighter, more sustainable future for generations to come.
