It is Earth Day today. Lately, I find it increasingly hard to believe we are heading towards, at least, a livable future. Despite the groundbreaking discoveries about our planet's boundaries (that give me great amounts of joy and hope), we are still missing action to put that knowledge to work, we are still dependent on the decisions of toxically influential minorities. Even though we know what the direction should be, we are painfully slow at making the necessary turn. However, even though it might seem grim, we have to stay persistent. Be critical about all those sustainability claims you see left and right nowadays and educate yourselves on what it really means. Long gone are the days when the topic was abstract and only for hippies. The planet needs people who know what is happening and use that awareness to inform their decisions - voting (first and foremost), and then simple things like choosing what and where to shop, how to commute, where to live, etc. It is hard, but there is simply no other choice but to keep trying.
