🙏 Namaste, esteemed members of the LinkedIn community! I am thrilled to share that I recently had the privilege to co-present on the intriguing topic "Challenges and Opportunities for Semiconductor Startups in India" alongside my peers at IIM Rohtak on the occasion of the event "India’s Techade - Chips for Viksit Bharat.” Our presentation provided a comprehensive exploration into the fusion of two of the most important buzzwords of recent times - “STARTUPS” and “SEMICONDUCTORS.” Addressing the hurdles encountered by semiconductor startups in India illuminated the daunting journey they embark upon, characterized by steep costs, infrastructural constraints, and fierce global competition. Reflecting on this event, I am grateful for the invaluable learning it bestowed upon me. Not only did it expand my knowledge base, but it was also a wonderful opportunity to test out my mettle as a public speaker. I am relieved to say that I ALMOST passed my self-imposed test with flying colours (if not for the minor brain fade moments that I had while presenting😅 ). Nevertheless, it was a fulfilling experience that not only gave me new aspects to work on as a speaker but, more importantly, it reaffirmed my love for presentations and public speaking 🎤 As I conclude, I'm reminded of the profound potential India's tech ecosystem holds, and I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and innovation within the semiconductor startup landscape. 🚀Government Urges Big Corporates and Unicorns to Establish Incubators for Manufacturing Startups! The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has urged major corporates and unicorns to establish incubators for manufacturing startups in a move to nurture innovation and drive economic growth. Companies like Apple, Tata Group, Hyundai, Skoda, Maruti, boAT, Moglix, Meesho, and EaseMyTrip have been approached to support this initiative. These incubators will provide startups with mentorship, advanced facilities, and funding opportunities, creating a win-win scenario for both corporates and startups. The DPIIT's memo outlines various funding avenues, including government programs, co-investment models, and CSR funds. This initiative is part of a broader effort to increase the manufacturing sector's contribution to the economy, supported by production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes across 14 key sectors.
