EVERYONE benefits when staff feel psychologically safe enough to ask questions, raise concerns, share ideas, and show up to work as their authentic selves. 🙋🏾♂️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏻♂️🙋🏿♀️
Amy Edmondson, Harvard Professor and originator of the term 'psychological safety', summarises this best: "The academic research is overwhelming: when people believe they can speak up at work, the learning, innovation, [trust, collaboration, wellbeing] and performance of their organisations is greater. Teams and organisations in which people believe that their voices are welcome outperform their counterparts."
And so, in the spirit of the above, the work of creating psychologically safe teams/workplaces is something EVERYONE should feel empowered to participate in. 🙋🏾♂️🙋🏻♂️🙋🏿♀️🙋🏼♀️
