Is a student's offer to work "for free" too good to be true? Maybe! I've written an article about the potential legal exposure companies may face if they treat workers as "unpaid interns" as opposed to regular employees, and discussed a possible approach that may minimize the risk. #employmentlaw #wageandhour #misclassification

This is the most important slide I WILL ever make ⬇️ An interview is literally an exercise in which the interviewer wants to find out as much as possible. Why? To see if you're a fit for the role they're hiring for. That's it. The easier you make it for them, the better your chances are ✅ This doesn't matter if you're interviewing for Equity Partner level at a top US law firm. Likewise, if a vacation scheme position as a summer intern at a law ✅ Clarity, strategy, and structure will lead to interview success ✅ Knowing every technical component of a private equity deal - such as the financial engineering components involved within, wont ✅ If you can explain clearly, you're on the track to success ✅ And again, going to a top university doesn't mean you can structure answers well.... This is also part of my paid course I will be launching soon! There will be thousands of insights here in my time recruiting professionals for the world's most elite careers. See you there soon!

We’ll be real with you…hiring a summer student isn’t a “quick” “no work” option - there’s some time and effort requirements to mentor, train, and support them - but there are many ways that hiring a summer student can benefit your company! 1 - Getting a summer student for a few months is an inexpensive way to audition talent. It’s like a long-term interview! 2 - While they may be more inexperienced, you’ll get value for less money - a full or part time salary is often more expensive than a summer coop. 3 - You have the chance to make a good impression for your company. Students talk about their experiences and making sure that you’re top of the list as a “great place to work” will allow you to choose the best candidates when you do go to hire! (AND, for future summer student positions!) 4 - Providing a place students come and learn real hands-on skills is a good look for your business! Strengthening your alliance with educators and faculty members could provide valuable partnerships for future hiring efforts! Thinking about hiring summer students? Already have them coming but want to create an incredible experience for them? We have lots of ideas and suggestions - let’s chat!
