The thing is, as long as your level of English is high enough to communicate fluently and you’re able to explain a word when you can’t find the exact one you’re looking for, you ARE able to speak well in public in English. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝗱. 📌When it comes to public speaking, the truth is that you aren’t the centre of your audience’s world. This means they won’t notice as much about you as you think. #presentinenglish #presentacioneseficaces #publicspeaking #audience

Do you choose a more 'English' sounding name? Whilst there is nothing wrong with this, it is immediately telling your listeners, your colleagues, your clients, that your culture and identity do not matter. I will adjust myself to fit into your circles, your culture. I try to give all my students phrases such as, 'My name rhymes with (choose a word familiar to them in their language)' or, 'It is like (insert common word) but with a T instead!' In my opinion with the changing work environment, with more diverse, international teams, we should take 5 minutes to learn everyone's name correctly, even if we find it difficult to pronounce, or are not familiar with the sounds in our native language. I would be interested in your opinion on this! Do you change your name, or do you encourage people to pronounce your name correctly? And if you are struggling to be confident in your accent, your pronunciation, your spoken English in a Business environment, I created an interesting video on Public Speaking for Non Native English speakers. https://lnkd.in/gDdWReVY

Presenting in English? Here are three simple tips to help you sound clear and confident: 1. Pause with Purpose: Pausing for a second after key points helps your audience absorb the message and adds emphasis. 2. Structured Delivery: Aim for a strong opening, a clear message in the middle, and an impactful close. Having a roadmap keeps everyone engaged. 3. Tone Variation: A monotonous tone can lose attention, so highlight keywords and use natural intonation to sound more dynamic. Practice makes progress! Do you have any tips that help you when presenting in a second language? Share below! #EnglishPresentation #PublicSpeaking #ConfidenceBuilding #EnglishForBusiness #ProfessionalCommunication
