I couldn’t disagree with this more. Deadlines are important (to me anyway). They give me structure, the ability to plan and act as a warning not to procrastinate. At Shooting Gazette, my wonderful editor Will Hetherington always gave us clear instructions about what he wanted and when. We were never, ever in the office after 5pm on press day. Deadlines, for me, are as important as the project itself. They help me to prioritise, deligate and even discard tasks during the process. Sherlock Holmes once said “give me problems, give me work”. Me? Give me deadlines…only then am I in my proper atmosphere. #contentwriter #contentmarketing #meetingdeadlines

5 Aspects that can kill a writer's creativity: - Unreasonable content expectations - Not involving them in key stakeholder meetings - Asking them to stick to old tools and processes - Not defining a definite learning curve and growth in the long run - Not giving them the flexibility to experiment with things on their own It is all about giving your writing team the confidence to get things done. You become a slightly better editor when you learn to emotionally detach yourself from the content.* If you're editing your own, edit as if someone else's. If you're editing someone else's, edit it as your own. The more bias you bring to the editing board, the worse it'll be.
