Robotic surgery is perhaps the most cutting-edge medical technology of modern times. It has revolutionized healthcare for the good. Now, you might think robotic surgery means robots doing the job, but that's not quite it. The surgeon remains in control, using robotic arms as tools. It's like having a trusty assistant right at your fingertips, hence the term "robotic-assisted surgery." So, why is this such a big deal? Well, for starters, it's all about making surgery less invasive. Instead of large incisions, we're talking about tiny openings, typically just 1 to 2 centimeters wide. These small tools, guided by the surgeon, can access even the trickiest spots inside the body.
