In the ongoing feud between Daryl Hewison and I, over the importance of truth, I can't get past one thing. As I understand it, Daryl doesn't like overly certain ASSERTIONS OF TRUTH, because there is always some uncertainty. Always. Usually? I don't know. Anyway... Because there is always an element of uncertainty, Daryl believes the truth doesn't matter at all. But if an idea is expressed with the appropriate amount of uncertainty, isn't that more truthful than an overly certain claim? Isn't that why we have error bars on bar charts? And if an appropriate amount of uncertainty is more truthful, why does Daryl value it? p.s. It’s not a feud; I’m just being dramatic for attention.

#NeverMiss Day 1129 In a world where EVERYTHING is available at the touch or swipe of our devices, any flaws, no matter the size, get amplified to the "nth" degree. Having an opinion on something automatically puts you in a box, any disagreements categorizes you as an "ist" or "phobe" and accountability is seen as being a bully. Some have forgotten how to be human. Some have forgotten that we're all flawed and should be given grace. Some have forgotten that how a person feels about one thing doesn't make them a bad person overall. If we're willing to look in the mirror and recognize our own faults, shadow voices and shortcomings, we'd realize we don't have to agree on everything, but should be respectful of others. Think before speaking, put yourself in the other person's shoes. You're not going to like and agree with everyone you come across. And that's OK. Be willing to listen with the intent to understand.

😎 "It's super cool to use your voice for others to be included." 🤩 I am absolutely sobbing at my desk after watching this video. A.B.L.E. - Artists Breaking Limits & Expectations is something you have to witness but this video does a pretty good job of beginning to communicate what ABLE is actually like. Katie Yohe pulled on my heart strings and then the shared "I Take from the Heavens" at the end did me in. Inclusivity is super cool and not a unique point of advocacy for people with disabilities. The work of inclusivity and accessibility is for all of us. Once you experience an inclusive environment and accessibility, you'll keep chasing it for yourself and others, because it really is the world we all deserve. Throw all your money at this organization or just a little. Share this video with as many people as you can. Tweet powerful people with more money than you. Follow A.B.L.E. - Artists Breaking Limits & Expectations here or on FB or Instagram. Nonprofits count on every action, big or small, and every interaction or dollar helps us inch closer to more inclusivity, more accessibility, pushing the world to new heights. #nothingaboutuswithoutus #inclusivity #accessibility #donate #nonprofitsmatter #abetterworldispossible #disabilityawareness #disabilityadvocacy
In 2025, we'll celebrate our 9th anniversary of creating theatre and film for, with, and by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This feels like a good time to reintroduce who we are and all we do. A.B.L.E.’s programs provide a vital space for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to share their authentic selves and build community while developing courage, collaboration, and creative skills that support them in and out of the rehearsal room. In our new video series, you'll hear from actors, volunteers, and program leadership about how A.B.L.E. is building more inclusive communities through the performing arts. Want to learn how you can play a part? Visit ableensemble.com Thank you to Just Stories for their beautiful work on this collaboration. https://lnkd.in/gr698wXW
