After one year in Canada and 9 months in New Zealand, I am coming home to Czechia with new work experience and engaged so I guess my work trip abroad was successful. Canada, New Zealand and Czechia are quite similar countries. Even though each country has its specifics you can get used to them very quickly. This stay abroad taught me to appreciate the country I come from. I hope that in the future there will be more young Czechs with experience from abroad. They will find out that nothing is for free in any country and problems are everywhere. Here are some differences I noticed during my stay in Canada and New Zealand: 1. Canada was much more complicated than New Zealand. New Zealand Visa application and tax return application were fully online and very intuitive. In Canada, these processes were difficult and lengthy. 2. In New Zealand there was a big difference between the summer and winter seasons. Selling a car or finding a job was difficult in winter due to fewer tourists. 3. Public transport was slightly better in Canada than in New Zealand. However, in both countries, it is much worse than in the Czech Republic. 4. In both countries, we saved a relatively similar amount of money and much more than in the Czech Republic. Conclusion: These stays gave me some insight into what it's like to live abroad and taught me some important life lessons. Now I am looking forward to returning to the Czech Republic and to new job opportunities and challenges. Have a nice day.
